What does Adrian Lewis have to do with bikes in New Zealand?

Just sniffing around Lewis sports website. The rate at which the US dollar is falling makes 2nd hand US bikes a very attractive proposition :D

Number 2 son (11 yo) is starting to express a distinct interest in things with motors and two wheels. Might be an idea to buy from the US 'cause the smaller gassers are in short supply here. He has also taken to genuflecting in front of his poster of David Knight before he goes to bed. Could be a hint.

No prob, Adam (11 yo) can wait 'till he's finished at uni or whatever before he rides enduros. Until then he can learn from trials and get the basics right.

Anyway found the enduro bikes on Adrian & Mandys site so posted link to EC racing.

I want those graphics, and that color on my bike! Yikes, that looks waaaay cool! Forget the green.

So which one is it for the US market???

08 Racing model from the Gasgasman post. Europe only???

I bet we see the latter one with the Sachs forks. I talked to the CDN Dist today and he is going to order some of the "R" models as soon as they become available.

I really want to know where I can get those graphics, with the yellow plate backgrounds. That truly captures the Spanish flag color scheme.

Yes we are now a Enduro MX dealer- serving northern california-- first bikes arrived and gone-- got more comming next week!--Colton Haaker (our sponsered rider) recieved his 250 MX a couple of weeks ago and we will be having infomation on that and other enduro products on the website soon!

Great to hear Lewis Sports is going to be a GasGas offroad dealer. We need more exposure out west here.

That blue 250 looks great.

I think Colton Haaker was the trials rider at the endurocross who said he was coming back next year to race on a full sized bike. If he was, is he racing the GasGas?

Okay, enough of these pictures of porn, I mean hot looking bikes. I've got bike fever now. Wow, I love the blue too. I'd love to have those graphics! Too bad they won't fit on an '01. It does give pause though, and now I'm seriously considering just doing some yellow backgrounds.

I just got the info on the new racing models. They are currently being phased in (as of March 2008). 250 is available in red only, the 300 in blue or red. Sachs 48mm fork, Ohlins shock. They come as homologated ECs (with different graphics and suspension) but come with a spare box full of goodies (motocross silencer, solid rear disc, jetting, spare top end, lighting/wiring changes, 49t rear sprocket). I'm digging the new graphics, especially in blue.

Yeah, your killing me also with the bike porn pics. Those thing look soooooo sweeeeeet and I need a new bike soooooo bad. Really tough choice on the color. I love the blue but that red is HOT looking for sure.

I was curious about the 08 EC Racing graphics which are so nice and the Sachs forks as well so I e-mailed the UK GG importer for more details if available and here is the response. Interesting about the Marzocchi forks. Wonder what the problems are.

My Questions

Ok, I know the new racing models are not out yet but we here in the states are all drooling over the beautiful new graphics on the 2008 racing model shown on your site. Will these be available separately, when and for how much? REALLY nice looking and people want them already!!!

Also, is there any more info available on the new Sachs front forks? Caught everyone off guard over here in the states that’s for sure. Open or closed cartridge and why the switch from the Ohlins forks to the Sachs and yet still the Ohlins shock?

His Response

Jeff;

I've no more info at all ref. EC Racing models only whats on our site im afraid...
The factory are having problems with Marzocchi so this is why they are changing to Sachs...The new Sachs EC forks are a single cartidge 48mm but the same weight as the 45mm Marz. They are supposed to work better than Marz.

As for the shock, the factory are working no problem with Ohlins and they feel that the best shock for Racing is still the Ohlins...

I guess the sticker kit will be available but ive no idea when and cost...

John Shirt jnr.

My guess is its a buisness problem not a technical problem.

Also, if they come as homologated ECs, does the kit include a 2K-2 ignition as well as the DE harness?
