Wow! You better get that thing dirty before it turns into a princess!
Mind if we come up for a tour of your riding areas over the first weekend in May? We're looking for a destination for a spring trip...

Ya I know it's clean...:D Can't do much with her except look and take pictures till I get my front end back from LTR.

First weekend in May works the Outlaw Trials isn't till the following weekend...I think.

Hey Nerd are you doing the "24 hr. Chuch" next Sept?

You didn't use Ian Mckill of Riders Edge Suspension in Vernon? Why not?

I don't know the schedule of the Outlaw events (they're not on the PNWMA calendar) but the Merrit "Main Jet" is on Sunday the 2nd...
If that doesn't appeal to the rest of the gang, we might do the ride the following weekend.

As for the 24h of Church... it sounds kinda hokey, but could be fun. Are you looking to put together a GasGas team? If so, I might be swayed! The Chipmunk Creek trails are fabulous but most will not be used because of the dualsport participation.

Didn't know of him...at the time. Have talk to Les before. I'm sure their in good hands.:D

We have Mar 28-CPTA Trial, (IOCO), May16-CPTA, High Traction Sports Trial, Britannia Beach. The Outlaw national might be the same weekend.

We already have 5 guys ( mostly other Trials riders with D/S bikes). I think it will be fun. Looking forward to it. Never did a 24 hrs run before.

Never did a 24 hrs run before.

They are a blast! And believe me, there is an end to the supply of adrenaline!
Be sure to bring at least one woman along to prepare some food - an often overlooked and critical element for success! Besides, when she's not cooking, she can wash your bike!
A bit of food could have saved a friendship at my last 24h race... tired and hungry men don't tend to be very diplomatic!

More pictures while I wait...

I had A Husky WR 125 that wasn't working out for me.
Most of these parts bolted right on the Gasser.

You......... my freind..... are a very luck man:cool: Can't to hear a ride report and also some full body shots!

Not to bash the Husky, but what was not working on the Husky....besides the small tank and bog?

Thanks and good luck with the 3hundo!

The Husky WR-125 had some Power Valve issue when they first hit the market early last year. Husky never did a recall but did send everyone with a 125 New Power Valves, New Exhaust (complete with stinger) and new engine mounts. The bike was powerless anything under 6000 rpm. I basically parked it till I got the new parts (3 months). Installed the parts went for a rip, although there was still a bog around mid range all was good. The bike had bottom/mid power now. I've never had a small bore bike before. The light weight design made the bike very "Flickable". But I was used to tractor like power. (TXT 280, TE510) I found it very hard to keep the bike running hard. I wasn't use to riding a bike (like I stole it). Always having the bike pinned. They say riding a smaller cc bike will make you a faster rider and it's not a "lazy mans bike. I'm over 50 and my fast days are behind me. It would take a better man then me to make that puppy perform. I wanted a all round good enduro with lots of bottom end, smooth running engine, something that is "Flickable". I've read lots of reviews, loved what I read about the EC 300 so I traded the WR125.:D

Here's a shot of her still at the bike show the day I brought her home.

Will be a week or two before I can put her back together. And get her dirty.

Interesting ....
I've seen you over on Cafe husky and was wondering why you went with the gasser .... I'm actually headed in the other direction ... 47 yrs old I've got an 06 300 and am looking to get on a small bore. I picked up a cheap 08 cr 125 holdover last may ... I agree with some of what you said about riding the 125 ... I popped the top end and eric gore 144'ed it. went for more bottom to mid ..... no ride time on it yet. If it works for me it will be a keeper and I will sell the 300. If it doesn't work I'll go with a gasser 200 or maybe a 250 f of some sort ... berg 390??? Nice looking 300 btw

I've been following a few WR125 threads on CH, those that have them seem to like...once they get it figured...yet it seems most want more cc's....144. Being that I am pushing 50, I am still very happy with my 200. I would like to have a 125 to toy on! Enjoy that new 300....what a great looking bike!

Thanks

Yes one of the members on C/H "Wallybean", has done his homework on the WR's infamous mid range bog. He has put together a package of new Power valve springs which changes the opening characteristics. The members that have purchased them swear by them. Also many have installed the 144 kits.

I plan to get one of those kits and play with it on my 144. MY biggest complaint about husky is the bikes are so damn tall. everyone in italy must have a 36 inch in seam!!

If you do Trials...you just learn not to put your feet down.:D :D :

One of the things I had troubles with is the front brake on the 125. A handful of brake on the TE510 stops you real fast....a handful of brake on the 125 put me over the bars...:D :D

Jets

Hey Dave,

Did you play with the jetting yet? We burned a little gas on the river bank today my GG was running a little cranky, late November fuel! See you for a ride next week?:)

James

I have not done the jetting mod yet...but I did purchase a "JD Jetting" kit and will be installing it once she's broken in.
When I brought her home from the show. I dismantled all to get rid of the factory white lithium grease (which was used very sparingly) and packed all bearings with Motorex and changed all fluids. Put some new fuel in her and did a couple of heat cycles. A couple of times around the block just to put a smile on my face:D . Then I ripped the front forks off her and sent them to Les @ LTR. While she's been sitting on my bike stand (frontendless) I've started to see what item cross over from my Husky. Thus this thread.

I guess I still have some kid left in me cuz I'm getting kinda antsy.

I finally got around to doing a little machining on my old front disc guard from Motospotz that I had on my 125. I talk to Kelly and told him of the mods I did but said there was not enough volume to machine the guards to fit the Gassers... hmmmm
thinking.gif
Maybe we should all write him....:D
