2011 Nambotin triple clamp offset??

Anyone happen to know what the offsets are on the adjustable triple clamp that came with the Nambotin model?

I'm guessing 20mm and 22 or 23mm but I really don't know and can't find it written anywhere.

Appreciate any info help.

Thanks.

Didn't want to remove it just to measure. Did my best meauring the top clamp at 21.5mm when I had the forks off recently. The clamp insert doesn't seem to be different when rotated so I'm a bit confused. I haven't measured or rotated the lower insert.

Stock GG clamps are 22mm so I suppose one of the offset options is probably 22mm. Then I'd guess the other is probably 20mm. Of course it could be 21mm/23mm, 20mm/23mm or something else. ??

Pulled the triple clamp apart and measured, 22mm offset. The inserts are stamped "0". This must mean zero offset change when you rotate it because no matter how you rotate the insert the offset is 22mm. I guess you have to order different inserts of you want to vary the offset. $$$ Maybe I'll have some made.

All I can tell you is the alternate offset eccentrics are marked 2 . I understand you run the 0 parts unless your doing high speed stuff, considering I rarely see 4th I haven't ever wanted to change them

Hey Walt,

What are you looking to achieve with offset change? Correction for a lug offset change? or varied handling traits?

Lug offset change ? Thought I was well versed but have not heard this term. But yes varied handling , obviously pulling the wheel ahead is going to make it more stable at the cost of lower speed sharpness

Jake, it's a bit of a story so here goes. Seat belt.....

The Nambotin triple clamps have a different bolt hole pattern than the stock GG triples so my stabilizer wouldn't mount up. Had a spare set of stock GG triples setting on the shelf so I put those on the Nambotin and shelved the Nambo triples.
Recently bought a '15 Beta 300 and mounted my Ohlins forks from my GG EC 250 on the Beta. Not being sure I'd like the Ohlins on the Beta I pursued a parallel path setting up some KYB S3s for the Beta. Turns out I like the Ohlins TTX setup on the Beta but I'm still curious to try the KYBs. The KYBs are from a 2012 YZ450F so the lug offset is 32mm vice 35mm as you have recently discovered. No one wants to swap axle lugs due to the damage risk so I'll need to recover the offset at the triple tree. Pricing Beta triples at $650+/-. Having thrown a ton of doe at bikes this year already....I thought about the Nambo triple on the shelf. Pulled them apart and measured the offset at 22mm. Same as the stock like I assumed. The Beta offset is 20mm triple+35mm lugs, but honestly I think I'd like to try a little more offset on the bike to improve the handling. If I used the nambo triples with the KYBs I'd still end up losing 1mm offset (22+32). Wrong direction for what I'm considering.
Another thought was just using the nambo triples on the EC250 with the KYBs. Again, losing 3mm at the lug so I'd need inserts.

Spent this week pursuing inserts for the RME (robby moto engineering) triples from the nambotin. Steve Beane found me some in France for 80 euro @ 2mm. Of course, last night I pulled down the box of extra stuff for the nambotin bike and found a new set of 2mm inserts still in the plastic wrap. :)

So, now all I have to do is mount up and play. I plan to use the nambo triples on the Beta to test some different offsets and order a Beta triple set with what I like, then do the same with my EC 250.

That's the cliff notes version.

Makes sense to me.

Are the beta and gas gas triple clamps interchangeable? Same length, distance apart, same bearings etc?

The stock Gas Gas triple is 22mm vs 20mm on the Beta. Both bikes share the 35mm axle lug stock. They both share a 27 degree rake angle. A YZ250 uses a 26.9 degree rake, 32mm lugs, and 25mm offset clamp which some actually change to a 22mm and prefer.

So all things the same, the Beta actually runs 2mm less total offset straight out of the box. Taking another 3mm out by running a shorter lug is too far. Tips in too easily. Too knifey.

I've also got a set of Sachs/TTX forks, Marzocchi 48mms and some KYB SSS from a 12 YZ250F so can confirm all the measurements. I'm going to try the -3mm offset lugs with no other changes. Should be the same as those who run YZ250s on 22mm clamps, and possibly bring the Gasser closer to feeling like a Beta. It may/may not work. If not it would be good to have a few more options.

Options... that's kind of how I'm looking at it. The triples are the same width but I still need to verify the GG bearings will work out.

I honestly think the Beta is a little "knifey" at 20mm & 35mm but very stable in the straights which makes sense having more trail. When I mount up the KYBs I'll use the inserts for 24mm on the clamps so I'll net +1 (24+32). One bike will end up with the TTX and the other with the KYB. At the moment, the Beta is my race bike so it'll get the forks that suit it best. That may change

I read some of your KYB conversion, if you also have the 2012 KYBs you might need to go with the longer WR axle to get enough bite for the right fork lug. I did.

Cheers for the info.

90% of what I ride, and where I ride more aggressively is single track. I'm hoping it works out. Generally don't mind a bike that requires active riding.

When do you plan to have yours all implemented? Probably a month or more before I'll have a chance to test.

Have all the parts in hand finally, but the weather and work schedule haven't been cooperating. Hope to test the setups this week, but should easily get on it by early next week. I'll post up how it goes.
