Value of 2011 six days ec300.. I'm finally going to buy one

Hey everyone.

I'm finally considering pulling the trigger on a gas gas after window shopping for a couple years. I really
want a 2011 and preferably the six days model, well I found one local but the guy is asking more than I think is palatable at 3800. It seems to be in good shape and he knows what he is talking about in the sense that I dont think he "maintained it" inappropriately but, it's not registered or set up for the road and he wont budge on his price... seems way high to me, maybe 3200 in my eyes but what do I know.. figured i'd ask

Anyone know of any 2011's being sold out this way? I live on upstate NY. I'd really like a Nambotin but they are like hens teeth

I honestly couldn't say but I bought my '11 EC250 Racing for $2700 with a butt load of extra parts. Love the bike!

I just sold my 2010 EC. 4 AUD.! I'm stoked with it.. but I think it's definitely the upper end of the price range. I certainly wouldn't have paid that for it if I was shopping.. Exchange rate wise.. that's $2800USD. I couldn't imagine them being more than 3K USD personally.. but a bikes only worth what someone is willing to pay.

Yeah, $3000 seems ok to me but they normal go for lower more in the 2700 range. I'm thinking because it's close and in good shape I'd go up to 3200 maybe a bit more.. This thing isnt a garage queen in showroom condition, he uses it for what it was made for doing hair scrambles and pretty challenging trail riding often, so it has to have a bit of wear. He has put a new piston in it but that doesn't do anything for the rest of the engine which is all still original.
I've been watching them for a few years and it seems that the prices have been inching up since the release of their 18 models. Because of this I'm starting to look at beta as well, but I'm still fairly set on a 2011 ec300

I will say that I loved my 2011 EC300, and I sold it for about that amount a couple of years ago. It wasn't a Six Days, but it had extra wheels and LOTS of extras plus recent maintenance records.

If it's a true Six Days, and you have records, i would think that $3200 is very reasonable, maybe $3500 if there are spares and documented maintenance. The engine is really robust, but if it sounds dodgy then it is. if it sounds "sound," then it probably is.

If I didn't love my WB165 so much, I would still have the 300. It's a great size and the power is ADDICTING.

If it's been looked after, it's most likely worth that. They are a great bike. I had the 2011 SixDays 250. Still miss that bike. Take off the seat and Look under the top lip of the number plates and air box as the sub frame wore all the way through on mine. After about 350 hours. The linkage can be converted to O-ring seals on this bike which helps big time with the bearing service intervals. The stock clutch basket is rubbish on the 2011's if you are doing technical climbs and start to abuse the clutch. Ask how often the suspension fluid has been changed. before i bought my new GG i was shopping the used market,

I found a 2011 EC 250 6days, used for scrambles/narley single track, 300 hrs, documented maintenance and they were asking $3,200USD in northern new England.

with the hours i would have countered at $2,700 myself but the deal never went down so who knows.....

one other thing to keep in mind is proximity and chances of finding another one close by, I like somewhat unique bikes and usually have a hard time finding them or traveling which adds cost.

I bought a 2011 with 5 hours on the clock in 2015 and only paid $4k. Late last year I sold my 2015 EC300 with 75 hours on it for $3500. That guy is WAY out in left field on that bike. $3k would be palatable but still not a “deal”

I'd pay 3k easy, i hear nothing but good things about this model year and ive wanted one for too long. That said, I'd also pay more for not having to drive far to get it and to stop wasting my time looking but, this one is priced above anything comparable ive seen in the 3 or 4 years ive been looking, even the ones that included all kinds of goodies and i can tell not used hard like this one. Just a shame, i kindof know the guy, was hoping we could both walk away happy, bc I'd pay a good amount for it but if he wont budge off his price thats crazy high i simply cant stomach it. I also feel like something is off with the whole thing anyway, like he's not being very honest or something.

Anyway, im still in the market if anyone runs across anything, let me know..

Both of my 2011 300s had the sealed crank bearings when I tore them down, mag side bearings were shot on both. These were not particularly high hour bikes either. Better figure the cost of a bottom end rebuild into your budget.

Sometimes it's best just to walk away...wish I'd learned that years ago.

I'd just approach him with cash in the hand at what you're willing to pay and say what you just wrote.

You know the old saying, a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush!

And if he doesn't want to let it go, then it's not meant to be.

They are a very cool bike and they have a "special feel". I have had mine since 2011, I would never sell it. I know that is illogical.

Yeah, I will approach him with cash at some point. He knows what he has is not something that is very easy to find and bc of that I'm kindof stuck. O well, something will come around I might just not be getting into it this season like I had hoped.

I'd also like to find a 200, an older yellow one, I think something smaller will help improve my confidence and make me a better rider in the long run. Might end up with one of those first.. who knows
