Coming off a efi bike so jetting is not my forta. stock was rich so dropped main to a 172 and dropped needle one spot. better but still rich everywhere. had a jd jet kit coming so waited for that. set for 38mm carb 175 main 40 pilot, blue needle on 4th. a.scew 1.5. crisper on bottom but not as torque, almost too snappy and still blubery in middle but definentle more power. used a lot of gas too. would love a torque bottom that i can ride a gear high when slippery and just clean on mid and top. Ride at 2- 3000ft mostley. what is the float height suposed to be. HELP..

I am no guru either mate but with the help of JOKOBI we have mine very close to what i like. And the way you describe how you want yours. Mine is at 42p n3cj#3 175m 1 3/4 on the as. If yours is still rich you can drop the needle a clip to see the difference. Another bloke around here or another site i look at did say he was not real happy with the jd kit also. Here is mine.

Heaps of info in the jetting section. People are reporting CCK/CEK needles still work well in the newer bikes. I always thought they were pretty thirsty though.

NEDJ/NECJ both reported to work well (same needle half clip dif). Smooth delivery.
N3EJ/N3CJ same as above. More aggressive mid range power.

Just learing this 2stroke thing comming off of a 525 I have been learinging a lot. I've got my jetting they way i like it smooth on the bottom and pulls nicely into the mid here's what I have:
Main 175
Pilot 40
Needle N3CW
Clip #4
Air screw 1.5
500' to 1800'
Jetting is personal just like suspension.
