2012 vs. 2013

Are you refering to me? This is the northeast, its a very rare day when the bike comes home clean enough not to require a bath and service.

What I found to be the biggest problem is if you remove the tank for an extended period, say a week, then it is VERY hard to deal with. This is exagerated if the cap is left on and the tank is on its side, where the check ball can close the vent and the tank builds pressure from redidual fuel. When first removed you would never think there was a problem as it fits quite well, and refits fine immediately thereafter. Even now there is no obvious distortion with it installed and the plastic and seat all fit fine. I wonder if it expands to a point and then stops? I'll try and refit it again as a test after an extended storage and find out.

What's different about the fuel in the USA then? Never heard of a tank swelling over here on gassers.

It's got ethanol in it. My tank in my 12 is a squeeze to get in but it's no different to when it was new. I don't think we suffer as badly in the UK.

Thats because your 300 has the 125 frame, it was built on a friday afternoon,

Our fuel has 5% ethanol in it. My tank fits still perfect. Could it be ethanol and warm temperature based problem? We have not so many hot days here near north pole...

Dude.....chill out. The tanks aren't breaking, splitting, falling apart or doing anything to cause a dnf. They simply swell up some when our fuel is used in them and the bolt and collar won't line up IF you take it out. If you never remove your tank, you won't even know it has happened.

Not in panic mode at all. And a DNF would be caused by swelling up and rubbing against something creating a hole. Not a prob, if my tank swells and I believe it is a warranty issue, I will go thru proper channels to deal with it! They had a bad batch of IMS tanks for the Husky 125/150's and mine was alive!! I do remove my tank from time to time and those tanks were crazy! Mine was over a year old and IMS did warranty it. (had 2 bikes with IMS tanks race and practice ) one tank no probs other one ALIVE!! Like my bike and will resolve any issues. No Husky for me this year!
