2013 250ec wont rev out

As title 250ec wont rev out after about half throttle just splutters, short shift it absolutely fine, standard jetting, bike is in uk ,Any info on jetting what everybody else is using. many thanks.

Sounds rich on the main jet

What are your jetting specs?

Check everything is ok with your carb.
Don't overlook the possibility of a dud spark plug either, you would be surprised how many "carb issues" have boiled down to an ignition fault.

+1.. The stock Denso plug wasn't the greatest for me..

Also the stock jetting while grunty off the bottom was always too rich and would smoke and load up heavily. It always took a fair bit to clean it out before the bike would come on song properly.

Ditch that poxy needle.Look at the sticky threads on jetting.

Just checked power valve all seems to be working ok, started first flick of starter, back thinking it may be carb, any more ideas, settings, will strip carb later, any info.

Has it happened since brand new?

Pull the head off and see if the piston is in backwards.

gasgas wont rev out

Scotty no has not done it from new just recent, just took carb off and cleaned could not see any problems with it, So far checked power valve cleaned carb,new air filter, new plug checked all electrical connections will test ride tomorrow night to see if any different,anybody any other ideas.

See how your test ride goes. Is it billowing smoke while doing this? Has there been a significant change in the weather? Any chance of the fuel going stale or being contaminated?

I am not sure if the 13 has the choke on the bars if so check the cable. Sounds like a problem I had after install some led lights. I thought for sure it was the power valves but it I just ran the cable wrong and it was holding the choke on a little.

Has a similar problem that ended up being a clogged spark arrestor screen.

I had the same clogged Turbine Core. Cheap packing.

The bike revved annew once I cleaned it out with a coat hanger.

I have seen both a dirty air filiter and a clogged spark arrester exhibit the traits you are describing.
