Well glad im here on GGRC....lol. Went out for 2nd ride on my 300 and E start and tail light stopped working!! I just put a new Shorai lithium battery in it when I bought it. I went through the electrical and found no power at the key switch, e start button and tailight. Traced it back to the regulator which had 14.7 going in and nothing coming out! It's the 4 position regulator. Is this a common problem? Also I heard of bad solder joints around head tube too? Short problem to cause this? Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks!!

You replaced the fuse right?

Find a wiring diagram for your bike. It will be in one of the PDF manuals. Check every ground point to be sure it makes a solid connection. Put the stock battery back in and see if works correctly again. I know it sounds silly but did you happen to connect the battery cables wrong? I think the Shorai batteries are available in various configurations. The positive and negative terminals can be in different locations.

Maybe you have a break in your wiring harness. I had a wire snap under the tank - it had corroded I presume from water getting into the sheathing. It was in the middle of the loom, so it took some time with a tester to find it and then had to remove the protective sheathing to fix it.

Thanks for the response! I was hoping other people had the same problem. I do have the leads hooked up correctly on the Shorai ;) I have power going into the regulator but none going out to the key switch or the tail light. It kicks over fine and starts right up that way and still has no tail light when running. Before the rear light would work when I turned the key switch on. I'll download the manual and trace it out. Was hoping for an easy answer...lol.

My 250 has done this before from different causes; One was a bad connection in one of the connectors behind the headlight. Another time one of the leads broke off at the battery.
It's now doing it again & I'll have to trouble shoot this one.

Yep....Gotcha. I downloaded the manual w wiring diagram. It appears I have a short in between the regulator and key switch on red wire. I'll be out there tomorrow checking

Well I went through and had to cut open the harness and found the black and red power wire pulled apart at solder joint where the harness come by the headtube. Mine had 2 zip ties holding to frame there. It was right at the 2nd zip tie. Solder back up and works great. Glad you figured it out! I had my whole harness come loose from the retainer loop thing on the right side of the frame and it got cut halfway through by the triple clamp mid race. Make sure it stays secure there!

Is there any good riding near everygreen? I live down south but work out of our office up there every couple months. Usually just trail run at elk meadow or ride MTB in apex and dakota ridge but would love to bring a moto if there is anything up there.

Yeah I will look out for that...thanks for the tip! There is a ton of great riding here but usually between 1-2 hrs from Evergreen! Spring/summer as winter has us going out of state usually! If you want to come ride here just get ahold of me...i'll be more than happy to get you in the loop!

Glad you got it figured out man. It's a good reference for anyone that would have similar issues. Now go back out there and ride!

I plan to....just as soon as the snow stops and melts . Might have to take a drive to AZ next month.
