That is only when bike is running and charging. Full acid battery voltage is 12,5V - 12,6V, not more.Your starter problem is the battery, should read 13.8 to 14.2

After you ride that bike your plans will change. You will find the 50t sprocket unnecessary. I ran a 50t on my older GG bikes but on the 15 I stuck with the 48. Also the stock exhaust works very well and the 17 will ha e what seems like 2x the power of the older bikes. Once you get a taste of the e-start there's no way you will take it off. Just spend $75 on a lithium battery and throw the kicker in the trash bin. Lol

Now considering li ion, dealer said it is useless addon in tad over and below freezing temperatures.
Presume that if bike stored in warm garage, and while riding in freezing temp, its being charged, should be ok.
Maybe frequent start stops take its toll, if riding in low temps.
The trick with a Li-ion battery in cold temps is they need to "warm up". It only takes a minute at most. If you try to use the button right off the truck when it's cold chances are you will think your battery is dead. With mine I usually just turn the headlight on while I get dressed to put a load on the battery and then she will crank right over when the time comes. KTM even has some sort of procedure in their owners manuals now since they have switched to Li batteries.

2015 motor is like a worked 2011
It came with an AS1 (imho better low end)
Waaaay better suspension
E start
Way better high speed and pretty much equal low speed handling
A generational leap me thinks.
The updates from 09 to 11 were mainly cosmetic I think. The 11 has the red B profile tubing in the frame while the 09 used the black rectangular section tubing. Plastic and detalj are also different. As far as I know, the frame geometry didn't change. If there are differences engine wise, they are not significant. Perhaps the biggest difference is what type of suspension the bike has, but that depends on more than the model year.Differences between 2009 and 2011?
Of course you want an 18. Why buy a 17 at this point? They have been same bike for years. You could save money and buy a used 15 and it would be same bike...lol.
Yeah it is heavy...get the 18 no doubt.
