As I understand, the motor has not received a complete re-design. It sounds like this is coming for the 2019 MY.

I agree on all counts. Ask the '17 KTM and Husky owners about sorting through issues on new, first year motor designs

Yep, that first year is always Research and Development on the consumer's nickel.
