2019 Gas Gas updates

I like that it has a 40mm lower seat height for my short ass' as long as peg height isn't affected too much. And still has KYB.

The swing arm now has adjusting indicators on it.

Seat Concepts has a 1" lower seat available. I put one on my '18.

I saw that.

Rather than paying $200 for a new seat, what would be the problem with slicing the foam on the OEM seat and re-stapling the cover?

Is the plastic on the Seat Concepts lower with the same amount of foam as OEM?

The Seat Concepts is just the seat foam and cover, no base.

I guess you could cut the OEM seat foam.

I had a Sherco for 4 years without a kickstart, no issue. Folks need to let go of their security blanket.

I cut me seat foam down. I always use an electric carving knife. Easy as pie

I saw 2 non-kicker bikes have their day ended at our local enduro yesterday because they're e-starts failed. One Sherco, and one Beta.

My normal riding partner had his e-start fail on his Beta, but his is an older one that still has the kicker, so it didn't end his day.

The problem isn't that e-starts aren't reliable; they generally are very reliable, especially in the cases of Betas and Shercos. The problem is not only the consequences of if it fails (which can be fairly high), but also that the whole situation could easily be remedied by not taking the kick start off in the first place.

Manufacturers that take the kickstart off are being cheap, plain and simple.

I can see the No-Estart thing as a price point decision for a trail bike where you can either start it by bumpstarting or using a friends rear wheel, but my race bike had better have a kickstarter on it. I would have been totally burnt at one enduro this year when the electrical connector separated on my GasGas, which was my fault, but I didn?t have 15 minutes to troubleshoot in the bush in the middle of a race. Kickstarter to the rescue and I finished with an acceptable position.
