250 - 300, Jug piston head- What else?

Hi folks,

Just about to finish up swapping my mates 300 topend onto my 250 (and my 250 onto his. He is more novice than me and liked how mine rode, he didn't like the low down torque of the 300).

Apart from the obvious, head jug, piston anything else worth doing?

His is an 02 bike. Crank doesn't have the 2x m8 bolts, my 11 crank has holes for these bolts, what is their purpose? balance?. Both cranks have the stuffers in place.

Any jetting changes? Ill be running
