To bad its so far away, I'd love to check it out. Sounds like a good time and for a great cause.

This will be my first Almosta Race, test rode the trail yesterday, and it's a heck of a loop. Endurocross section is wicked, woods are fun, lots of elevation change, and extra section for AA/A riders. Washington is not really that far, get with Roostafish, and carpool.:)

Sounds cool. Rev, we should rent a plane big enough to just fly our stuff out! Assuming I have a replacement bike by then.....

Naw, won't work out anyway, my wife is having a bunch of folks over to watch some football game. Her team is playing in the Rose Bowl, the rubber duckies I think they're called. We're a divided household, I'm a Beaver.

Update Event T-Shirts

T-shirts will be for sale at the event with all proceeds going to RiderDown. Thanks to our sponsors

Recieved an autographed Doug Henry jersey for the silent auction yesterday, compliments of Bill Eddy's Motorsports in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Thank you !!

Snowy trails at Wildcat Ranch today but 10 day forecast shows sunny & 40 for New Year's Day! Perfect weather for riding !
Auction Item Update:
Recieved an autographed jersey from 2009 OMA Series #2 finisher Scott Watkins, thanks to Scott for helping out
Little Debbie Snack Cakes has promised breakfast rolls for sign-up, Thanks to McKee Foods for their help.
Got a big box from RiderDown.org (race benefactor) of hats, shirts, wrist bands and other goodies

Dick Lane's of Grand Lake has just sweetened the pot. In addition to the two helmets they have already donated for the silent auction, they have decided to give a $100.00 Hole Shot award. Think you could get the Hole Shot? In addition they will be giving a $25.00 gift certificate to each rider of the top ten finishing teams. Where else could you go and ride for $15.00, with the opportunity to take home $125.00? Especially if you're not a AA rider? And you're being fed after the race! You never know, Elvis could even be here.
Or Keith Riley, which is just as good.

More silent auction items. BULLET PROOF DESIGNS. You all remember Bud and Nate? They helped design the trophies one year! They have donated a set of Radiator Guards for any brand bike. These can be personalized. Have you seen these things? They are way too cool. Also, a Swing Arm Guard for a KTM only, and a Rear Disk Guard for a KTM only. Thanks Nate and Bud, for once again helping out at the Almosta Race.

Here's a first for you! How much trouble would you go to, to go to the Almosta Race?? Seems as though the whole Sizemore family wants to come for the weekend, and they have a baby calf being bottle fed. What do they do? They load up the dirt bikes, throw in the baby calf and some bottles and head to Wildcat Ranch. Now that's some people that just can't miss the Almosta Race.

Got signed jersey from Drew Smith at WER (says he raced in it last weekend) and couple of sets of tire tools, spark plug wrench, and a T Handle socket. Thanks Drew!

I like to say thank you to Park City Water for donating 10 casses of water for the riders.
Thank you Ozark Motorcycle shop for donating. Grips, Googles, Tie Down and a set of handle bars.

Arkansas 14 - Oklahoma 5 - Minnesota 1

A great big thank you from Wildcat Ranch and the Almosta Race. To all of you who worked for weeks before the race and during the race, and to all the riders, their families and spectators, it could not be a success without each and every one of you.

To have had 4 inches of snow on the ground two days prior to the race, Mother Nature came through and gave us two days with a high temp of 40 degrees. New Year's day was a beautiful sunny 40. A little cool for the spectators, but perfect for the riders.

1st Place - Parker Nolan and Hayden Judy
2nd Place - Mike Hodge and Nathan Bolton
3rd Place - Matt Lane and Chad Houtchens
4th Place - Jimmy Lovett and Jesse Heydenrich
5th Place - Mike Snook and Kevin Mounce
6th Place - Dustin Youndblood and Mike Carpenter
7th Place - Kirk Houtchens and Kraig Anderson
8th Place - Katelyn Sizemore and Curtis Fahler
9th Place - Jeremy Houtchens and Charles Walls
10th Place- Darren Montgomery and Ty Montgomery

Hard Luck Trophy went to Dani Toole who sustained a wrist injury.

Traveling Trophy went to Kraig Anderson who drove all the way from Minnesota. This was not Kraig's first Almosta. He loves it here and comes at any opportunity. Especially since he does have cabin fever this time of year.

Hole Shot Trophy went to Robert Campbell. He was on a Gas Gas and rippin'. Dick Lane's of Grand Lake donated $100.00 cash for the Hole Shot.

Iron Man trophy went to Jeremy Houtchens when he made five laps to finish the race for him and his partner, after his partners bike went out of commission from a busted radiator and smashed pipe. If we can talk him out of it, next years Hard Luck trophy can be made from his broken parts. Not only did Jeremy Iron Man it, if you notice above they took 9th Place.

No where in the world can you go and find better people, than at a Hare Scramble or Enduro. They are family, and they will always help their own. We are family. I want you all to know that I feel very special to have the friendship and support that you all give me. I love you all, and yes Todd, 364 days and counting... I plan for the 10th Annual to be very special. It will be on a Saturday, so make your plans early and avoid the rush.

A few more stats:
29 teams (58 riders)
they raced for 3 hours, consumed 10 cases of Park City water, 5 cases of Arkansas's own Diamond Bear beer, ate 3 18 quart pots of chili, 1 20 quart pot of taco soup, 7 bags of Fritos/Doritos, 2 boxes of crackers, 3 lbs of shredded cheese,
suffered ONE injury (Dani's wrist), and the course claimed one radiator and one pipe ( both on Charles Walls GasGas)
raised a fair amount of money, totals to come later, bench raced and visited for an additional 2 hours and had more fun than you can imagine.
What a way to bring in 2010
