Advice on sm250 please

Where in Scandinavia are you located? I live in Norway.

I doubt that you find a 4-pot with the same mounting holes as the OEM Nissin suitable for a 320 disk.

The GG SM bikes were delivered with an adaptor to fit "Brembo 40mm" and a Brambo 4-pot caliper.

THis is the part you need

"Brembo 40mm" is the old Brembo standard used by lots and lots of european street bikes in the nineties. E.g. any Ducati before 1998 had these calipers. Very easy to find secondhand.

The alternative would be to use this adaptor to move the OEM calipper out.

ISR, PVM, Spiegler and others make aftermarket calipers that uses Brembo 40mm fitment. If you choose to go for a 4-pot or a 6-pot, I presume your master cylinder might also need replacement, but I havn't tried running the OEM master with anything but OEM Nissin caliper.

My youngest son just built an EC300 SM, using the above mentioned adaptor and a ISR 6-pot caliper with a Brembo radial master cylinder. Works very well.

Thats what I was looking for. Brembo 40mm. Ive got an order for Morad rims, with tires, adapter and discs and sprockets, so thats allright. Just needed the info about calipper size. Yeah, I know about the master cylinder.

I live in Norway, and Ive seen your sons gasser SM :) Saw that he didnt have a SM front fender too.

Parts are to expensive in Norway. I know GasGas in Spydeberg, and Thomas Tandberg (bought my old gasser), but they all need to order parts from Gasgas factory - and thats the problem. The factory is slow.

Picked the bike up there is a few issues but most seems well

Need a new speedo levers and the cutch is loosing fluid somewhere I've ordered a slave seal repair kit (hope this will cure it) does anyone know how easy they are to do? Just slave off or clutch aswell ?

also I guess that aftermarket clutch brake and gear levers for the ec250 are the same as the sm250?

Easy and yes. Only slave. Speedo is a weak part on the gasser due water

I went to order and realised nowhere has it in stock anyone know where sells a clutch slave seal kit that has it in stock in uk ? Gas gas doesn't either

Welcome to GasGas - "we are the company that has nothing in stock".

Due to parts and re-selling, this is my last Gasser...

Good luck. Try Ebay and Motocrosscenter (spain)

Im waiting myself...

Does anyone know any SM wheels from another bike that fits Gassers? (not RS125 wheels)

Have her a clean yesterday fitted new brake and gear lever also new grips. Got front brake and clutch lever coming hand gaurds and some other goodies.

What master cylinder are you using with that caliper? I have one ready to fit to mine, but think the standard m/cyl won't be up to the job.

This topic got 3 pages, in every page, this has been explained (even with pictures.)

The Brembo 4pot is from an older Ducati. Its a Brembo P4 30/34, 40mm holes. Sits in KTM LC4 Duke 2, 640,625,660, Ducati Monster,S2R,996,748 and all the 1990s ducatis.

I gave 100 dollars from a local guy in Norway, hose, pump and calipper with used pads.

I know exactly what caliper it is as I have one sat on my bench waiting to be fitted (I even said that in the post you quoted!), I was also one of the posters that told you what caliper it was in the thread that you started, asking about SM calipers! But that wasn't what I was asking about!

Sorry mate, I guess it was quite late for my part. Again Sorry.

Im using the standard Ducati Monster pump with the caliper. I bet you can use the standard Nissin also without much hassle or difference.

Btw, got my wheels. First thought the rear wheel was kinda skinny, 4,25", but well.. thats how it is.

As for pumps, I used a 16mm radial Brembo on my supermono for a while. A nice pumo, although not as adjustable as an ISR. Now its on my son's Ec300 with ISR sixpot.
On my supermono I use a ISR radial pump with the ISR sixpot. As you might imagine, I'm an Acke Rising fan.

On my Duc and my wife's RD350 YPVS we use standard Nissin pumps from R6 etc. Easy to come by, cheap and functionable, but not very "bling". I guess a Nissin pump for single caliper use (1/2" ?) would do nicely, as will a 13mm Brembo.

I think a 4.25 rim with a 140 or 150 tyre will be just right. Rhe Ec300 does not need a wider tyre, and a narrow tyre makes the bike more flickable. My favourite among the "skinny" is the Bridgestone BT 090. I have used them since they appeared on the market.

Yup. Wheels are on the bike, and it looks stunning :)
Brakes are killer, but the caliper-adapter did not include a hole for the speedo-magnet. Gotta drill out and thread it.

Can you upload some pics stian ?

Sure I can :) Anything special you want, or just the hole schabang? :)

Ive got one here. Its in the garage, due to heavy rain and some electrical problems (lights flickering) Ive got a thread here about it, take a look if you could.

Im in need of advice due to speedometer sensor and magnet. Anyone got a tip?
