aftermarket headlight...

I love my 2010 headlight. Heaps sexier and agressive looking than the 2011 :D

I agree with Jakobi, but like you said to each his own. The polisport looks Gawd Aweful. If you change it the trail tech is the way to go. I put one on my wifes bike and it looks great.

I like the '10 light too, in fact I like the entire '10 bike with the black plastic. A black and red '12/'13 would look awesome. Maybe the new owners will can the white and we will get some new color option factory plastic.

My brother just made up a headlight for his Husky TXC with a stock number plate and some high power LED driving lights. Looks great and you can still run numbers on the plate if you want.

Geez sounds like I'm in the minority on the headlight..maybe I better leave it alone

I want to buy a complete set of fresh plastics next year.. but don't want to upgrade to the 2011 light or fender. Haha! Seriously though Bryan. Its your bike. As long as it gives you a big stiffy who cares what anyone else thinks :D

The 2013 bike has the said effect on me lol...to bad my dealer won't give me a decent trade value or I would already have the new style headlight....on a new bike :)

Here is a vid of install of the X2 on an 07 EC300 w/ A/C power

*IF* my stator is stock (3rd owner, not sure) it runs both 35 w bulbs fine. Now that I've ridden it some there is some dimming sometimes, other times I can't get it to dim at idle. Dunno why. Easy wire up and bright. The combined power and kill switch works well.

Unexplained dimming and light output variables are almost always either connection problems or a bad AC regulator. Those small AC regulators are just back to back Zener diode clipper ckts and have to dump the extra energy as heat, so they tend to eventually fail if you do a lot of higher RPM stuff. The larger Moose parts in the alloy housing hold up better. Or just go DC with a rectifier/regulator.

thanks Glenn. It only dims *sometimes* when it returns to idle. I plan to convert to DC this summer. In the meantime, do you think I am putting my electrical system at risk running both bulbs while riding?

It's not like you can overpower your stator/wiring by adding more load. The stator only has so much output, all that happens is you get lower and lower output voltage as you increase the load. This reduced voltage shows up as dim lights.

The polisport LMX is a very sweet headlight. I.ve got a spare if needed?
