All black concept bike

Visually I think it looks terrible. IMHO it defeats the purpose of a bike that's supposed to draw positive attention and create interest. The "black out' phase peaked years ago. The exhaust is nonsense, and the use of another brands' old motor makes it all the less appealing.

Perhaps someone can explain to me the positive future direction GasGas is trying to portray by displaying this machine as a concept?

I happen to agree; I'm not drooling.

That motor dominated the WEC. Tons sold in the US under Husky. Very popular motor with the Husky crowd. I think it's a great move.

And really, we're caught up on the color:rolleyes: the most popular bike on the planet is orange. That's what aftermarket plastic kits are for.

Dooh!! Well said.

I think it's great to see so much open and honest feedback on this machine but remember...concept... is just that. Don't get spun out over a color (especially black, since GASGAS has used it before) Actually, the response I've received from our dealers and retail customers this week has been overwhelmingly positive, in favor of black, but I'm fairly certain that will not be the color of choice with the production machine.

As for the exhaust...once again I go back to a previous life and remember how our friends in Italy just couldn't understand why the American consumer couldn't accept the HSQ exhaust being on the left side so, the plan was to have this same exhaust you see here, on the TXC/TE line by 2016. Actually, when I learned of the X-Lite project back in March, I wondered how GG would approach the exhaust layout with the current frame and now after seeing it, I think they did a good job.

The good news is, there are allot of riders out there, very happy to see the X-Lite engine platform continue on, and just as many dealers that have been waiting anxiously as well. Hang on folks, the fun is just beginning!

I guess since SWM is basically relaunching the Italian Huskies can we assume Gas Gas didn't buy the 450/510 engine? I never minded the exhaust on the left, though I did lose a pair of riding pants to it haha

I personally like the concept but am confused why the can't just route the exhaust around the front to the right.

That "old" motor is cutting edge and better than anything else on the market. That motor and the awesome 125 deserved to live on after Bmw totally screwed up husky and had to give it away to orange. We are fortunate that those motors will live on in the awesome gg chassis. I could not think of a better woods bike except for the black.

I would be very curious to see what that bike weighs. Husky's are relatively light compared to most bikes.

I knew people would get emotional about this. I'm respectful of whatever opinion anyone would have. I like dirt bikes in all forms. However I stand by what I've said. I still don't see how displaying this bike, as displayed, is any indicator of positive development going on at GasGas.

It is a 315!!

I think it is all good. And of course concept is concept lots could change. To keep things in peoples minds is good as well. They never really had their own decent four stroke. Now they kind of do. Along with there are many diehard Italian bike liking guys that perhaps will jump on the gas gas bandwagon. Weight must be reduced by gas gas. Bad magazine reviews will get them no where. And on a serious note. Their two strokes should not be so heavy. I've has good luck with them. And the two guys I talked into buying gassers back in 06 still ride gas gas today! I'm old and fast and demand a light bike. At least light as or lighter then the pre 12 chassis. They are trying!!! A gasser may be in my future especially if I hate my 250 tc husky/KTm!!

There was some bitching about the exhaust routing on this bike. That is grasping! Has anyone seen the new YZ4T line up and the pipes on those? They wrap all the way around the cylinder first and then out the right side!

That is one sweet looking machine! Throw a little more red in with that black and she would be bitchin! Ha! It doesn't matter what side the exhaust exits on someone is always going to loose a pair of pants on it.

Now that is funny! What some didnt grasp was the whole, concept and black thing. Even though "concept" was written on it!!

I agree with Twowheels, the red head would have put this over the top on the sexy-o-meter!
