Another Master-link question

I have a 2005 Gas gas EC 250.

I have the chain that came stock on the machine. There is a stamping that reads 'REGINA' on the chain links.

Heres the embaressing part... I cannot, for the life of me, find my master-link !!!

Is there some new fangled Spainish design to this REGINA chain ??

I have been a motorcycle rider for a long time and have never taken longer that a few moments to locate the ML. Now, I am completely baffled.

The chain is without master link - safer that way. You will need to break the chain and insert your own master link. I have a motion pro chain breaker - punches the pins out.

My 2001 gasgas came with a "CZ" chain and was without a master link.

I have never heared of that.

I put a dab of grease on one link and carefully rotated it around. I touched each and every single link on both sides with my fingers. I looked with my hands and with my eyes.

This is like a chicken without an egg, or an egg without a chicken.

I suppose this is typical of GG. I love my Gas gas, but its definatly an oddly designed machine.

It's quite common (and a bit "old school") for a chain to have a riveted link, just go out and buy two split links and choose any existing link and file down the pins til the plate can come off, then replace it with the split link.
The second link is a spare that you should carry with you

Use an electric grinder if you can. Much faster.

Agreed, takes 10 seconds on the grinder and then punch out the pin. I can never get both the orings on, so i just put the ones on the back side of the chain, and leave off the ones on the masterlink link side, unless I have some flattened ones around to use. Otherwise its possible that the masterlink does not get seated properly as you can't squish it enough. Done it on every dirt bike up to 640cc. Leave the riveted chains for the 150mph street bikes.
