Any news on a bigger tank for the 07-08s?

They have them for the FSR, just got notice from them. I'll call tommorrow and ask about 2st.

Yeah, Clarke has a 2.7 gallon tank for the 07 FSR. The info says the stock is 9.5L= 2.47 gallons. I don't know if .03 gallons is worth $200.
Now, if the other printed info on the 07 FSR tank is correct at 7.5L, that's a different story.

Well, I emailed Clarke Manufacturing and got a reply from Chris. He said that they have no current plans to make one for the 2007/2008 two strokes. :(

I really wished someone in the Oregon area would offer they bike for a fit check. Not having a larger tank sucks for the 2007+ bikes.

It's more than just having a bike to use for fitment. For example, Hall's husky had to buy 100 tanks to get new larger tank for '08 husky te/txc models into production with IMS.

It's probably a religious thing - but I have always preferred clarke tanks to IMS.

just rang safari here in Australia and they have no plans to make their tanks for the 2 smokers :(

Will the pampera version fit the 2 strokes or is the frame different?

I'm used to carrying these on long rides.

I'm not sure what the EC300 is like on gas when trail riding but i need to be good for 150-160kms on most rides and up to 200k's on desert rides. So carrying that much fuel on my back isnt preferable

My last bike had a 12.5ltr main tank with a 4ltr aux tank on the rear guard.

I know it depends on factors like terrain and conditions etc, but what sort of mileage do you EC300 owners get from a stock tank ?

cheers

I have no idea what mileage I'm getting, but I know it changes drastically depending where I am riding. I am safe for ~40 miles of hard charging in the expert class.

The inexpensive 2 liter soda bottles work great for carrying fuel, water, oil or just about any liquid used while dirtbiking. I rarely remove the bottle from my pack. Empty, it weighs almost nothing. I have used it to fill and carry extra water for a leaking radiator as well.

Just Gas Tanks said the 2 and 4 stroke tanks are basically the same with the needed provisions for whatever the 4 strike needs (clearance, fuel pump, etc). The tanks incorporate built in radiator shrouds as part of the tank. They are working on getting pictures ASAP

To much money and now to big IMO with the Safari tank for most purposes.

Mark at Go Fasters is frustrated and having no luck with IMS or Clarke getting a new 2 stroke tank made. IMS wants a 100 tank order. Gas Gas Spain needs to get involved and just pony up the money to Acerbis or IMS and get this done. Huge oversight really. Spend less time making anodized bling for the Hard Parts catalog and give us a decent fitting 12 liter tank. Mark did say in the next 6 months this may change and good things are gonna be happening, although he wouldn't tell me what. Could be big though.
