Any news on a bigger tank for the 07-08s?

At the Spanish "power parts" catalog it says its 12L. (3.17 US Gal. aprox.), but it doesn't specify if its for the 2-Strockes, nor if fits <2007 or >2007 models...
I've just sent an e-mail to GG to get more info... hope they'll answer soon.
By the way...Skidad, vehicle market in spain it's going through a really bad moment... and motorbikes are the most affected... many dealers are closing, and no one sees the light at the end of the tunnel.... (well, only politicians... but they saw the light even before this whole mess started.
) I wouldn't expect GG factory to get involved in many new projects... but who knows...

The 12L tank you see in the Gas Gas Hard Parts catalog is IN FACT a Clarke tank. It's the older model and yes I got this info directly from Spain. "According" to them it will "fit" the new bikes. Well, we know that already but the fit is not as it should be and a correct tank should be designed for the 07-09 bikes. We are not talking very big money in the big picture and I'm quite sure 100 or more tanks would be easily sold in the world wide market place. It's the type of B/S that turns people away from the brand IMO.

Finally....I hope n think
After months of communication, asking, pleading, and even some begging. Clarke Mfg is picking a new 08 to use for the template for a new tank on the 2-strokes this coming Tuesday! Gran Prix Cycle has kindly allowed them to take from their showroom floor to use for a week! I will keep all of you posted!
Rekluse "Pro Z" clutch isn't far behind and a new Trailtech kickstand as well...among other little goodies.

I have heard that the 05-06 clarke tanks "will fit" on '07 450fsr but how good fit is it? It is the only tank that is awailable for me here for reasonable price. Should I go for it and buy that tank? will the plastic fit? It would be sweet to have 12L instead for the barely 6,5L that comes original!
