I'm looking for feedback and if any oil experts know if this oil will mix with any other brands. I have used different oil brands lately looking for one to stay with.

oil

Amsoil here too
3 yrs on my 300 still good compression Taking her apart for because she needs new seals or id still be on the same top end this year

I don't mix oils - finish with what I have and start clean with something new.

For pre-mix I used Mobil 1 for years and finally ran out. Right now it's Klotz R50 - no long term feedback as yet, but it smells good....

For the gear box Rotella T 5W-40 seems to do the job.

Amsoil as well,, loved the torco,, but when mixed it was too clearish? in other words didnt look like I had mixed it.. too iffy feeling didnt like the idea of not being 100% sure if I grabbed my mixed fuel can or the other can.. amsoil has a very strong red color.. cant miss it..

+1 on the Klotz R50, and I'm an amsoil dealer. It's the smell. I run it in the snowblower just to get my 2 stroke smell fix.

You did not specify the brand. I personally use TORCO and probably always will. I have tried others but I prefer it.

Sorry I have been gone and just got back and after reading the 1st post I realized that I forgot to attach the link.

So what do you think of this oil? http://www.spectro-oils.com/products/2stroke/platinumsx.asp

I have used Yamalube synthetic blend and Ammsoil Dominater and Stihl synthetic blend. I like synthetic but I'm worried that some full synthetic may not protect against corrosion while the bike is parked. I have heard horror stories of rusted up engines.

My bike sat for a year with no special prep while I went through a clavicle nightmare. I couldn't pull on a wrench for nearly that time either, but when I finally pulled the top end off the crank had a nice coating of oil, no rust. I've used this exclusively for over ten years in my three GG250s, my wife's Pampera(at 80:1), and another GG125.

The oils you have to be careful of as far as rust are the ester base oils, like Motul and Redline. While of the highest film strength, ester is highly hygroscopic meaning it absorbs moisture from the atmosphere. A true racing oil but no good for storage.

Doug, my tiny chunk of advise is to find an oil with a low flashpoint. It will spooge less and leave less groz everywhere. Fancy expensive oils are great for mx, but unneeded for trail riding. I run motul 710 at 28:1. No spooge, great performance!

The flip side of that is oil that burns easy will muck up the powervalve more.

Synthetics from my experience leave a lot less carbon build up in all types of engines and that is one of the selling points of the Spectro. The spooge from the tailpipe doesn't bother me one bit, if anything I like knowing that the oil is in tact all the way through the system. I was paying $20 for 1 qt. of Ammsoil Dominator so $10 for a pint of Spectro is no different, I just don't know anybody using it that can give me feedback.

$20 for a quart of dominator? Ugghh.

You need to become an amsoil dealer or preferred customer. Dominator will run you about $36/gallon as a preferred customer. (That's shipped to your door.) A preferred customer costs either $10 or $20 per year. It pays back in your first order.

You can get the Klotz from Rocky Mountain ATV for $40 / gallon, which is also a pretty decent price.

Citgo Superguard Sea and Snow semi-sythetic. It is really Yamalube in disguise. JASO and ISO-L-EGD FD rated. $5 a quart at the local hardware. 40:1.
