Back yard endurocross

My buddy and I built an endurocross course several years ago thinking it would be fun to ride. We were wrong. That stuff is not fun to ride.

But it seems here recently that families, jobs and the holidays are not leaving us enough time to ride. So we thought we'd "cram" on the training and pound laps on the old endurocross course.

It works great for that. About 20 laps feels like you've raced an entire hare scramble! Gives you a new respect for the guys that race enurocross.

You got some great pictures there thx for post'n up.

Is it hard to maintain the coarse?

It is real hard work.
I'll post up a pic of mine tomorrow if I remember.Lots of logs, tyres and a tight twisty little flat track. Oh and one tabletop.
Cheers Mark

Looks like a great place to practice if you ask me !!!

A few years back I had a friend just out of town..had the same deal...small track on his land....lots of obstacles...big logs...big wire spools.. he even tried a big teeter totter....he was untouchable on that track cause he practiced day in day out on there......

it made me feel like a rookie though :D

My track pics...

Doesn't actually look as good in the photos but a good fun little track all the same. Hope you like it.
I am still looking for some larger pipes and more logs though....

Thanks Skid! I was actually exaggerating the wheelie a little. Fastest way up the rocks or over the pipe is without the wheelie.

Wence, you're right. It's hard work to build. We even had a skid steer. But you have to place each rock by hand to get it just right. We drove re-bar in around the crossties to keep them in place.

His back yard drops off a pretty good hill. So we go down and up it twice.

Sorry if the pics bore anyone, I enjoy it as a little practice track.
All the best for the New year.
Have a happy and safe riding year,
Cheers Mark

Not boring at all wence. That's a nice course. I can appreciate the hard work you put into it.

But let me ask you something. How do those dogs react when you ride over them? I would have never thought of live animals as an obstacle! ;)

Yeh , bit hard to get them to stand still long enough, so can't tell you yet.
They just run around like idiots while I ride and then swim in the dam:D

Not at all. It's fun looking at all the pictures and threads.
It's a perfect day to be lazy and nurse this hangover from last nites activities.:o

Hardly boring.....I like your set up.. thanks for sharing those pics

I wish I could ride in my yard with a set up like that...and not have to trailer my bikes an hour away

mind if I come over :D

(kidding I am 13000 kms away)
