Hi everyone,

I did a search, but didnt come away with a sold answer of a bar riser 1 to 1.5 inchs tall??

Does anyone make any??

Thanks in advance!

BRP makes one. It's in the form of an under bar damper mount. It's what I use. The damper is a nice addition too. Running Flexx bars they look freakishly high, but they are spot on for me.

I have the red GG "power parts" bar clamps with a 12mm alu plate below. In this plate I have milled a suitable holder for the Scotts damper. I guess this is at least 30mm in total.

Sent from my OMNIA7 using Board Express

Bowhunter, I cant find under those if they fit the gas gas or not.. its not listed as usual ha!
See if you can measure a buddies japanese bike to try for a fitment that would prolly be a significant decrease from GG specific parts pricing. What year & model? 7/8" or 1 1/8"?

I am 6' 4" tall and wanted more space. I wanted my bars higher and also further forward so built my own solution. I built a bar mount relocation / mounting block from a 1" thick aluminum plate. I drilled two mounting holes in the plate that corresponded to the two original bar clamp holes. I bolted the aluminum plate down through the original bar clamp holes and installed the bar clamps into two holes I drilled 1" further forward from the stock location. The end result is the bars are higher and further forward.

Sometimes homemade solutions are the best. Last night, I built a light mount for my helmet. It accepts a 250 lumin tactical LED flashlight. It is freakishly bright, and on the cheap.

My initial thought was also of an underbar damper. I use the Motosportz and its mounting block lifts the bars around an inch.

You might want to try a cheap method first (like in post #5,) before the more expensive options. Bar position is such a personal preference thing, you really have to try it and see what works for you. (Having said that, those Roxspeed mounts would be an easy way to test forward/back positions.)

My experience is that I'm 6'2" and tried to lengthen out the "cockpit" like Z-man did. I made some bar mounts like this (post #12) except that I included sub-mount tabs for a stabilizer.

It felt great in the shop, but for me, in technical hilly terrain, I ended up feeling like I was "hanging" from the bars - I couldn't get my body up and over the front end the same way. Weird - it seems like the opposite should be the case. But climbing hills I had to pull myself up and further forward vs. leaning over the bars. I went to a sub-mount like Roostafish mentioned and am a happy guy! (mine is a Protect, but they're no longer in business.)

The point is, you have to try it and see what works for yourself. So spend $20 bucks and see what height you like before spending more $$ on something permanent (if you use a stabilizer, Roosta's idea for $129 is a good one.)

I'll send you my forward bar mounts if you want to try them out.

These are the spacers I used to raise my bars 3/4" I am a shorty but I wanted to be able to slide my fork up without hitting the bars. I just used 1-1/8" diameter 6061 aluminum drilled for clearance for the M8 bolts aand used two longer bolts and ground the heads down to fit in the stock bar mounts, easy peazy.Oh, and cheap.
