Anyone riding the Caney Creek National Enduro?

It will be held on August 27th 2006 in the Sam Houston National Forest.

Are you organizing the event this year as you always do? Or do you get to ride?

No, I'm taking a break from the "hot seat" this year.
I will be running a gas stop though.

Last year I had to do it twice, when hurricane Rita came through the race got cancelled.
To make the rescheduled date, our club had to cut out over 30 trees off the trails. Most off them averaged 20" in diameter.

We did get a nice plaque from the Forest Service thanking our club for the hurricane clean up help.

FWIW.
This will be the last National enduro ever held in the Sam Houston National Forest.
Due to the AMA proposing non-time keeping events for next year and beyond.
The Forest Service require that we have time keeping events before they would grant us a permit to use the National Forest.
