clutch grabs....

on my ec250, when i hold in the clutch and put it in gear, it seems like the clutch is starting to grab. i am wondering if this is normal, if it is a problem, and/or if it is something i can fix or adjust. i am new to dirtbikes and so i do not know that much about it.
Thanks!

I have the same problem with my 2003 250
I have the clutch lever as far as I can reach it
I don't mind it, if I pull the lever with all 4 fingers, it doesn't crab at all

Does it go away when warmed up? If yes then I consider this normal. All of the European trials bikes I have owned have done this. It didn't surprise me when my gasser did it also.

a possible clutch basket wear issue also. If it's not dragging to bad, i.e. you are still finding nuetral easy enough, then look at the fingers on the basket the next time you happen to have the clutch cover off. If they are getting notches in the basket fingers the clutch plates will hang and grab. If you are still finding nuetral OK then I wouldn't be real concerned just yet.

it just seems to start grabbing a little when i put it in gear. it does it regardless of warm up, and i dont have any trouble with finding neutral, it just seems like it wants to start engaging the clutch when i put in gear, and it is a little bit harder to start in gear with the clutch pulled in, compared to starting in neutral with the clutch pulled in. but Thanks!

Hi,

I'm having the same problem on my European (Belgium) '09 EC 250.

Did you find a solution for this? I'm hoping this has something to do with air in the system since I just changed the clutch basket (the plates were ok so I didn't change them). I'm going to back bleed it tonight.

Maybe my slave o-ring is ruined, need to check this.

Thanks!
