Cross over rear sprockets

Rear sprockets for all 2 stroke ec125,200,250, and 300 gassers (model years 1998-2013) are the same. Front sprocket for the ec125 is different from the larger gassers and I believe the same as some yz125 yamahas. I don't know about the GasGas 4 stroke front sprockets but my guess is the ones with engines made by yamaha will probably have yamaha front sprockets.

thanks for clearing that up lol

I've been running DID 520VM Gold Chain, Supersprox Stealth 50T and Talon 13T. Holds up great and as long as you change the front out at half way everything wears nice and evenly. My 2010 has over 10,000kms of muddy riding. Went through the originals, then changed to the setup above. Must have got 7K out of them before having to replace, mostly due to having a bit of play between the teeth and chain, and the master link being worn out more than anything else. Bloody solid setup!

do u think there would be much of a difference between 48 and 50 rear?? I was asked would I like a 50 but decided to stick with 48..

Bit of difference for sure. If you do more geenlaning etc the taller gearing (smaller sprocket) is probably the go. I found with the stock 48 rear the 250 lacked what it needed to pull second up some hills. With the 50T I can tractor and lugg right down in 2nd gear. I prefer it like that.

That would work Einstein! I just need to find the time to take it off. Are you in a rush for it? If not it would probably be a couple weeks or sooner.

Marc

No rush when you are ready, I have to buy a new one like you then take this one off. I am in the same boat as you

Pm me when ready I may miss a post in this thread

Yeah just pulls the gears closer together. Avoid having to do the 1st, 2nd change as often, and I also find the 3rd to 4th and 4th to 5th is easier to stay on the pipe. With the 48T sometimes if you change up a bit early you miss the sweet spot. Much easier to either keep the engine singing.
