Did GoFasters drop GasGas support?

Asking dealers at this level to carry a big parts inventory is unrealistic and puts needless strain on dealers.Having basic parts makes sense.
Beyond that centrally located in one or two warehouses across the country makes the most sense. All the parts in the country easily located by any dealer either through those warehouses or shared dealer network and drop shipped to the customer or to the resqueting dealer location makes the most sense.
Taking a small amount of factory produced parts packaged for the U.S.A market and scattering them across the country makes no sense..Dealers have minimums yes and need to keep that inventory to the minimum and the most neccesary-common parts-sprockets, gaskets, etc. With networking and shipping these days you would have any part at your door step 2-3 days.Overnight if you want to pay.

This same subject came up on the "all the reasons in the world" top offroad amatuers arent racing GasGas thread.

Real simple stuff.

Boy o Boy why do these folks keep kicking this around ? Go buy another brand maybe a Sherco ? They are great bikes so I am told or maybe a new Yamaha ? I rode my Buddies and it really is nice with all kinds of parts support . How about the newest KTM great bikes and then you would be able to get your parts anywere ? I like my Gassers . I like this forum but get sick of this subject so if you break your modern Gasser not a 1998 model YOU ARE THE MAN ! Because I do not have a problem getting parts for my 15 or 14 enduro bikes Maybe because I am kind of a wimpy old guy who just does not seem to bust my bikes up . Did UPS leave the parts at the nasty next door guy ? That is not a GasGas problem . I think that this company is doing all the rite things , but it takes time so if you do not want to wait it out . Go ride another brand . Then you will not have to post your thoughts here .

+1 well said.....and needed to be said.

Well I'm the guy that breaks everything! Once broke a anvil with a rubber mallet! I break things not due to a problem with the bike but I'm a big guy that loves rocks. I hammer this thing through the rocks.
In 12 and 13 I rode every ECEA Enduro for a total of 16 events each year. I break stuff but never missed an enduro because I could find a part to get me ready for the next ride.
I also have a good relationship with my dealer Matto Cycle he takes care of me. I was at the point of sending them an email on Monday, generally got a response that day even though they are closed. Phone call on from Brad and parts are in on Thursday.
Its only as bad as you want to make it.

Maybe you could list some of the resouces you have used in the past.
Some of these guys are gonna be complainers who will bitch about anything and everything.
Some deserve the benefit of the doubt.
Just saying.

For the record, I've been able to keep my 2000 running more or less for the 2 years I've owned it. I've never had a parts problem, just a local parts problem. I like my GasGas and I'm going to ride it until I can't find any more parts and only then once I've run out of crossover parts. I've been frustrated at times, but overall quite happy to do the necessary research to find parts for my bike.

Seems like Matto Cycle and Halls are the guys. I know Matto's stocks a lot of parts. I have heard good things about Halls here on the site.

Nothing wrong with some discussion and criticism of the current process, if we all just kept our mouths shut then GasGas would never know what they are doing wrong. You don't get better by covering your ears and ignoring what the customer is dealing with. There are limits to this but if someone doesn't know we shouldn't discourage them from asking, we should give the necessary information to them so they get an answer.

Would an online order form be great? Yes
Would more parts be great? Yes
Do I think the dealers are doing everything they can to get customers parts quickly? Yes (as mentioned Halls and Matto are on their A game for this)

And some of us I believe have jumped ship for a reason or another, I personally left GasGas and will not be returning which didn't have anything to do with the supplying of parts. Matto as always was awesome in getting me everything. I'll keep hanging around as I spent a lot of time learning the ins and outs of my 12 and feel that knowledge could be useful to other members.

I agree

Some people are apparently spending too much time on "social media" and too little time riding. JMHO - Ken

Dear Gas Gas corporate,

Please give the parts finder to all your dealers for free, so they can have it on their sites. Don't make the consumer jump back and forth between your site and theirs.

As for the parts finder on your site, I was terribly disappointed to be redirected to a page that requires a user name and password. That is not consumer friendly in the least. Everybody already has too many passwords.

As somebody mentioned above, if you could work out logistics which allow dealers to drop ship directly to the consumer from your new facility, that would be the best of both worlds. It seems like a reasonable goal, given today's technology.

Good luck ,and thanks for keeping the faith.

moto groove, I hate to bring up the obvious, but gasgas is not going to put much attention to a guy's comments, that has not bought a bike from them in 15 years? if you were them, would you? This is just business in our world today.

But they should, because the "big" money and reputation is in selling and availability of parts not bikes.

What about people who have bought bikes from them in the last 5 years and have bought other gas gas bikes only to have the same thing happen all over again?

Constructive criticism is great but they haven't even been given a chance to fully implement their plan, which they outlined in detail MULTIPLE times. Everyone gets that it sucks when you can't get parts (or are required to do some digging) but this is a company that was just bought out of bankruptcy. It isn't Honda or Yamaha or KTM. Maybe time for some of us to put on our big boy pants, accept our responsibility for buying from a very small company that has had issues for years, and give them a chance to execute their plan before throwing more internet tantrums. If they lied or fail to execute their plan then fair game to blast them. Either that or be honest that you can't stomach the issues that often come with small manufacturers and move to someone else. There are too many good options to have this kind of stress in your life.

+1 This horse has been beat to death and buried. Now someone dug it up and we're beating it again haha.

It's a long time in todays world but I'd say mid 2017 is probably the earliest any judgement could be made.

I've moved on but I look forward to when they put modern bike out and have their business structure up to speed.

I do see some positive things 17's are at dealers now! And judging from the temperature its not January. This is a huge step in the right direction.

Link to new microfiche

Hello Everyone,

Here is the link to the new microfiche with retail pricing, suspension manuals, and the start of the PG&A which will be added in due order in the next couple of weeks. As well as the 2017 models are almost complete as well. Then we will get back to creating the "hotpoints" for everything older than 2007. You wouldn't believe the man hours converting a PDF to excel, sorting and formatting, then uploading page by page.

It won't allow you to create a shopping cart yet, but we are trying to create a program where you can create a shopping cart and email that order to your favorite or closest GG dealer.

It will eventually have different options for brake pads, rotors, chains, and anything else aftermarket as well.

Perhaps I can get Jeff to add a link to this system as well.

But the biggest thing will be when we repair issues or prices we find incorrect from the factory, we can fix ourselves without waiting on some IT company from a different source to correct.

Thanks Mark. Older parts books again available, and ordering from the parts list. That will be really good.
Will the password work indefinitely, or will we need to go on an set a personalized password for the system to work? (having the order shipped, etc?)

Good luck, and thanks for all the work.

Since the Motocross center thread is closed , I'll post in this one. Having a person going to a dealer for parts is assinine. If you want to go that route, make Rocky Mountain Atv a dealer, so parts can be ordered online, quickly and easily. A dealer rarely has parts in stock, even with Kawasaki KDX, which was made for 10 years , I cant walk into a Kawasaki Dealer and get a part for it, even though it is probably one of there most common bikes out there. Dealers aren't good for much anymore, and nobody has the time to sit there and hunt down a part, calling dealer to dealer.

I think GasGas is better off going in the direction of the Tesla model, being a not so common brand, this would be better for the customer, and the company.
