Has anybody ever ran Dual Sport Tire for hare scrambles ?
I did a search and couldn't find anything there so here is my story...I run the TuBliss system with MX31 Dunlop now. I like it OK but the last two H/S I have run I am tearing knobs and sidewalls so it's getting a little pricey. Here in Arkansas we run on mostly technical rocky & sometimes rooty courses typically with a field start and some field connector sections.
I have run trials tires in the past and really liked the straight line traction but was disappointed with the grass section traction, cornering traction, and braking traction of the pure trials tire.
I'm wondering if an aggressive dual sport tire might be the peaceful middle?? I've looked at the tread pattern on Michelin Cross AC-10, the IRC TR8 Battle & the Shinko 244 series tires and it looks to me like they might fit the bill. Shinko has a nice price, so it wouldn't be a pricey experiment if it didn't work.
Opinions...??? Thoughts ...?? Thanks !!!
BTW Shinko also offers a 19" Trials tire if you have an MX rear wheel
