I'm looking to upgrade an 05 with the estart kit since i had a screw placed in my foot in november i 'm unable to kickstart a bike now. My problem is I cannot find exactly what comes in the estart kit and what else I'll have to buy. In the "hardparts" it just shows tiny picture. ANyone know what all is included and what else i'll have to buy?? Has anyone converted and old bike with the kit?

Convert your 1996 and newer GasGas to an electric start bike. This kit includes everything it takes to convert, except rear fender and seat. For 1996 thru 2006 you will also need a seat and rear fender. This I assume would be a 2007 and up seat and fender.

How about a silencer??? DO i have to have a 2k-2 or 2k3 flywheel?? Is the wiring harness full DC power? Will it work with aftermarket tank and rad braces? There needs to be a pdf download that is more specific to what is included and the install instructions, like the Trailtech stuff.. This is one of the things i hate about Gasgas's you always have to dig, dig, dig for information like this and new bike specs. I'm not a GG newbie had 4 in 5 years.

Has anyone actually ordered and installed the kit?

Looking at the wiring diagram from the link provided, the headlight looks to be regulated AC, the tail, brake lights etc seem to be DC. So not a full DC conversion.

As we undersand it everything comes in the kit that you need to convert your 2007 and newer GasGas to e-start.

It sounds like you only get the starter ring gear flywheel which is for the heavier EC ignition, if you have the lighter 2K2 version you'll need to change that as well.

The kit will work on a 2005 / 2006 model but you will have to update your airbox, rear fender and seat to the newer 2007 style.

If you are converting 2005/2006 some retrofitting may be required to your silencer and muffler but they should work as others have done this with minimum modifications.

I believe we have on order two kits as seen in the microfische found in this thread and we should be able to comment more on whats included when they arrive.

Is the ONLY reason the kit includes a new subframe is it has a battery mount?

If that's it I'm sure you could jury rig a battery mount in the airbox (and use one of the new style lightweight batteries) on an older pre 07 bike and not need to replace the seat/plastic/airbox/rear fender etc which adds some serious coin to the already expensive kit. Then you could sell the sub frame that came in the kit if you didn't feel like upgrading all that stuff. Plenty of guys looking for that newer subframe assy.

It would be nice if they offered a kit without the subframe IMO.
