EC250...what octane are you using?

I have a manual and I know what the recommendations are. But I'm just wondering what octane rating people are using for their bikes.

Just figured I'd ask before filling up for the first time (all set with premix).

Anybody use leaded?? a station near me has leaded 100 octane race fuel and 110 unleaded.. both ethanol free.. the ethanol in Pa is really bad at the current time and thinking about mixing in this or going to it.. since its off-road only the price is not as bad as it used to be.. less tax per gallon.. With reg pump super over $4 the 100 leaded is $6.50 doesnt sound so bad..

i run 50/50 blend sunoco 112/93. amsoil dominator 50:1

112 is currently about $8.75 gallon for me. the blend drops the ethanol in half. and bike doesn't ping ever.

I used leaded fuel but it's over 12 dollars a gallon here if you can find any. I've been thinking of using a lead additive. Anybody run it or try it?

Where do you guys find these crazy high octanes? Regular old gas stations up here only have 91. Some have 93 but that's it.

I have been using premium 91-93 with 44:1 and still get a slight knock on decel so I will be moving to 110 or a 110 blend to see how it goes. 110 is 6.99 a gallon but have to drive 12 miles to get it. I have a buddy over there so it is not that big of a deal.

vp racing fuels,, there is occasionally a small fuel station or speed shop that has a filling station that sells it from a pump. "NOT FOR STREET",, as you cannot get a car to the pump, posts in the way..

i go to a race shop that builds late model stock cars chassis. it's a 30 minute drive for me, i buy 15 gallons at a time. they go through a lot of fuel, supporting a bunch of race cars, so i know it's fresh. vp, klotz, etc. in the 5 gallon can is expensive (around $12 a gallon for the regular stuff. much more for heavily oxygenated). if you search the sunoco site, you should be able to find a race fuel dealer in your area. or go to a drag race or circle track event and ask anyone with a vehicle.............

Turbo Blue (110 leaded) and 91 octane pump gas blended half-half, topped with some Amsoil Dominator at ~50:1.

The resultant mix is a purplish soup that smells good and burns clean.

My 03 250 runs fine on our local 91 pump gas with amsoil dominator at 32 to 1, it doesnt ping or knock at all.
It does have a fairly large squish and only 172psi of compression tho.
