EC300 08 mortal danger construction problem!!!

gasser> You are genius, you solved our problem! Yes, the fork will compress further, but maximally for 10mm. I have also Gasser with same fork, and fully compressed means, that there is about 10 mm reserve from bottom edge. And I don´t think that we have to add 10mm,cause this problem starts at 220mm. I don´t see any point in testing this with springs-he removed them for better testing and showing where it starts to collide...

So you guys says, that you have new Gassers with FMF pipes? Interesting, so it is really only Europe problem with stock GG 08 pipes

Bond, the US has been getting Gassers with FMF pipes for years. I don't know why.

I have been a bit light about this topic and thanks for the 'heads up". It seems that it is a problem but not as a bad as you initially thought.

We have had FMF pipes on our pre '04 bikes, and GG OEM pipes from '04 - '07 without problems. The new '08 FMF pipes that our '08s come with is different and no problem either. BTW, that fork does not look bottomed out, based on the marks I see on mine, so springs would not be a factor in this case as the fork should be able to reach this position in travel.

the euro 08 model comes with a different pipe to the 07 (not fmf) same for australia this is what the australian bike come with

Here are some options to consider...

Take the motorcycle to the dealer just as you have it in the photo and show the dealer where it interferes. Ask the dealer to fix the problem.

Find another dealer to assist you. Take the motorcycle to the dealer just as you have it in the photo and show the dealer where it interferes.

Talk to the country importer. Take the motorcycle to the importer just as you have it in the photo and show where it interferes.

Talk to GG corporate headquarters.

Buy the FMF pipe.

Buy an earlier year GG pipe and see if it fits.

Try another aftermarket pipe.

Hey, just check out that first photo, the front of the fender is about 5cm from the wheel while the rear is touching when your fork is compressed at 220cm!

Its obvious that the forks without springs move back in the upper fork tubes when you push down. I would put in the springs and recheck.

As I have already posted, the '08 pipes are different (have a longer strait section out of the cylinder head) and barely touch on the pipe's weld. All the '08 bikes sold here in Greece have no issues. Also the new pipes are offered for all the pre '08 bikes, and are supposed to produce stronger and smoother overall power than the '07 pipes.

My friends fixed it with buying new 07 pipes, because Czech Republic Gas Gas country importer said to him that he "fabricates some problem in the place where isn´t and that´s all, complaint denied - no one has same problem-only you. You already paid and in problems after we are not interested" No matter that I heard about five gassers with same problems. I heard from many people, that our GG country importer is an idiot and he doesn´t doing his work as he should, but this is really hardcore :(

About removed springs- no matter if they are in or out. If you land after some jump, front wheel will block(that´s the way we discovered that something is going wrong....)

What? The fork slides on its bushings, springs or no springs.

With that response he will hurt his future business.

I dont think it is the distributor who is the Idiot I think it is Gas Gas Spain, they need to help your distributor fix this problem.
The good thing is not all markets have this pipe so it may only be your market that has this problem.

Haven't heard anyone in Oz complain about this......maybe it comes out with a different pipe over here??

Aussie here, just picked up my 08 with the problem, im a bit heavy (110kg) and it rubbed under braking a couple of times and off some drop offs. Ill give it a bit to bed in before i complain though

I actually noticed the edges of my front tire are melting from coming into contact with the pipe
