EC300 + force rad guards, wtf is this thing?

Hey,

Just putting the radiator back onto my 08 EC300 after its been repaired, i pulled it off months ago so everything isn't fresh in my head

Got everything worked out except for this little guy:

Any anyone enlighten me as to what it is?

i have an 06 but id sat its the bottom shroud mount the plastic pin gos in that hole, spray some anti seize on there why its out

Leaving the shroud mounted to the rad is the eaisest way to rip the radiator open like an accordian.

so what do you do just screw the shroud into the tank and call it a day?? seems like that would have the shrouds flapping in the breeze.
every bike i've had I always screwed the shroud to whatever mounts were there??

Get the LTR GP radiator braces and they screw into that. Very cheap insurance.

Force guards have a threaded insert on the guards for the shroud mount so there's no force applied to the radiator.

Skid, do a search, I posted this pic at least once already. Just because it was always done that way doesn't mean its the best way. I would love to see an OEM cage as part of the CrMo frame, that the rads sit in. In todays dry weight numbers game that will never happen though.
