As I understand it its the tooling cost for cutting the splines. I suspect the Aprilia and Berg units were easy mods from more mainstream high volume units.
For the GasGas they would need to buy a special broach for the GasGas
spline. My guess is the Aprillia and Berg spline is the same as one they already
produce. Tooling can be expensive, but it gets me a pay check!
