Im wondering whether anyone can offer me any suggestions if it is possible to unseize an engine without a stripdown?
the bike was last used 3 months ago and stored in the barn.

this week i thought i would fire it up but the kickstarter wouldn't budge at all
the bike has been running 40.1 and I had a good blast on it before I fell off it and bent the gearlever shaft

any ideas or thoughts
thanks

Anything you might pour down the cylinder to free up the rings will then either have to be drained or burned ...

I would remove spark plug, add a small amount of 2t oil. Put in gear and rock it back and forth with the plug removed. If that doesn't work you should disassemble and inspect.

Make that a 3rd.

I have only ridden my bike twice this year and it has sat for months in between. I'm not thinking the rings are seized, but pouring the 2t oil in is worth a shot.

Can you shift the tranny through the gears?

thanks

thanks for your replies, I knew i could get some worthy advise from you guys.

I'll try the 2T oil 1st, failing that then WD40,if still no joy then it looks like a stripdown.

I was wondering whether the bent gearlever shaft could be causing the problem

Does the back wheel turn with the bike in neutral? If you are worried about the gear shaft its not too hard to start by pulling the pri drive cover.
