Glad you're OK, that could've been nasty.
I used to run/own a heavy duty wrecker service out of the Baltimore-Wash DC area and we did a lot of out of state towing from NY to NC. We always carried extra clothing and boots to be prepared for the unexpected. It might be 40 above at your location, but it might be zero or below where you're headed. The best I found back in those days were snowmobile coveralls and insulated boots.
