Front end wont turn

Hi Guys, I need help, I have an 07 GasGas 300 for over 3 years now, The problem is that no matter what I do I cant seem to get the front end to turn properly. I have lower the rear suspension with lowering links , ajusted the pre load to 10mm (258mm spring length), lowered the front forks to just under the bars, serviced the front shocks 115mm of 5w oil, set the forks to base line settings and it still under stearing. I have tried 3 differnt front tyres and run the pressures as low as 0.85 bar. Please help:o

i have lowering links - i'm running 250mm spring length (18mm pre-load). lowered forks to the bars (about 10mm), 140mm of 5wt.

- that makes my ride height even lower than yours.. low ride height generally causes understeer, as does too heavy front springs.. mine understeers a bit, but not bad. i've considered making the spring length closer to 255-260mm - but i'm pretty used to it as it is....

you can also go in on the rebound a couple of clicks - if it returns too fast it will be harder to turn in.

my bike is a 2000, i believe your frame geometry is a little different, but i'm not 100% sure as to which way the redesigned frame is.

is it understeering out of the corner exit, or is it when you enter a bermed turn (blowing through the berm/wants to ride up and over it)?

Hard to say what your suspension changes have done to the geometry of the bike. Perhaps the raising of the forks is not enough to compensate for the drop in rear height and you have actually increased the rake angle and trail. Maybe do some measuring as it is now and compare that to the stock measurements to see where you're at. It's hard to get accurate, but you should be able to get close enough to get an idea.

Forks should be using 7.5wt oil, if they have never been revalved, then the lack of rebound dampening from stock would be amplified by the light weight oil resulting in interesting rebound, mostly pushing(understeer)
Theres lots of info on tuning the 07 zoke here http://www.gasgasrider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=7087&page=2
Im using bchatt's third setting, and my bike turns inside of everything all day long, although I havent lowered the rear end, I have raised lowered the forks for stability.

This might help

Thanks for the response guys, I have been speaking to the guys that race "A" stream here in South Africa and it seems that the front end of the new GasGas is quite hard to get setup. On the 2010 EC300 six days SACHS model they had to eventually use 1w oil toget the front end to work.
