Gas Gas Meet n Greet Ride 6!

I'm really looking forward to this ride and meeting everyone!! It's going to look like a Spanish invasion. LOL I'm coming from North Seattle and trying to decide on the ferry or driving down to Tacoma. Any suggestions and what can I bring for the BBQ? :D
Jeff

I am coming from Shoreline and I take the Fauntleroy ferry (cheaper and quicker than Bremerton). It's a quick shot to Belfair from Southworth. There is a 7:35 ferry that will get us to Belfair around 9. The ferry loads pretty quick, but you don't need to be there until 7:20 or so to get on.

re: the BBQ- Bring an appetite. Roscoe sets up a good spread. Any beer requests? I go for cheap, but I am willing to step up to the expensive stuff (Rainier, Olympia, you know, high-dollar brands) if anyone has specific requirements. :D

My favorite beer is cold. Only a few more days. My scoot just needs bars...and handguards. I seem to missing the throttle side...Hmmmm. Has anyone seen the extended forecast? It's gonna be a perfect Tahuya day:D If anyone is going to spend the night at Elfendahl...I get there early enough to go for a preride ride. I'll be easy to spot...big , old, & ugly brown Dodge, with a new enclosed trailer behind. I'll be pedaling an old KX 250.

Is it possible to use Edmonds ferry? I can't see going to seattle to get the boat. Would this take too long to get to Belfair?
I am starting to think that the ferry would be cheaper, than the 16mpg my van gets, driving around.

Does anyone have an address for elfendahl? I can't find anything so I can map quest to get directions.

Edmond's ferry will put you into Poulsbo and Silverdale, which will require some time. I haven't done it, but it might not be a terrible option. There isn't really any better way around. I feel your pain, as my van averages 13 MPG (on a good tank) so I always try to look for the short option.

Here's a quick google maps route to Elfendahl from Edmonds. It's easy to find once you get through Belfair. Signs are pretty good, plus there will be other rigs going the same way.

Thanks Phil! I will see you on the ferry :D

Green Dodge van, former King County Metro. I'll be chilling in the cab. You can't see through the tint, so it looks very innocuous (at first). You are welcome to disturb me if you see me and we can caravan to Elfendahl.

Edit- If you don't see me (or I bow out due to work), here is a good set of directions with a google maps link.

A few more days! I think i have the directions down, also i will be going there straight from work saturday. So i will save a covered shelter, if possible.

I hope its not a problem riding my KXF though. :D

By early afternoon, most of the people at Elfendahl should be cleared out. If it rains a tad...It'll be even sooner, as most people melt:D

I will be out tommorow morning to ride the loop we'll be running. I'll have the chain saw on my back and be on the pegs of my wife's Wr 250 4T. Driving a blue Chevy Colorado with a Gas Gas sticker in the back window.

I need to cut some trees out and do a bit of brushing in a couple spots. Probably be there the majority of the day. I'm planning to get there around 7:30AM. If ya see me come over and say hi.

Not staying the night, I'll be back Sunday morning with my friend Mark. Really looking forward to Sunday. The riding conditions should be primo!

BRAAAAAAP!!!

Hey guy's I'm afraid I will have to bail on the ride on Sunday.

Mid April I was hospitalized for very high erratic blood pressure that the doc's thought was Unstable Angina. They put me through a bunch of tests and could not find anything but put me on of bunch of med's though.
Life was good until last week thursday when my BP took off again. Back to hospital for overnight and had the camera put down my throat thinking digestive problems but again could not find anything but put me on more different drugs. Then last tuesday in the early am I woke up with my BP pushing 200. A couple nitro pills and ER trip again to the delight of finding nothing again. So yesterday I got tested for Pheochromocytoma which is a problem with adrenal glands.
So until I can under control, I probably should stick closer to town.

Have a great ride, sounds like Roscoe is setting you up for a primo ride.

meet n greet

Just finished getting my gear ready.:) I was trying to think of something I could bring, and decided... I will have coffee, not sure if it appeals to many but since I would have it for myself in the morning. Decided I will bring enough for about 4 pots, it won't be the best but it will be hot.

Also if anybody realizes they forgot to get something ,such as oil ,spark plug, goggle lens, etc. I might be able to get for you, just PM me by 1p or so.

I was just thinking about this-Did I really offer coffee? Damn I feel old

Ah man...... Wishing you a speedy recovery buddy.

Seriously John, let me know when you get cleared to get out and ride and feel good about getting out. I 'd be glad to hook up for a ride. Remember I have some private land to show you in the future down toward your place. Were all pulling for you!

For those that don't know, John is the only person that has been at all 5 North West Gas Gas Riders club rides Ive held. It's gonna feel like someones missing to not have him along.

Roscoe

John you be riding with us in spirit.....take care, get well and prepare for the barrage of photos and gopro vids.

You all are in for a treat, conditions were stellar today.:D I got a lot of work done out there and I'm feeling it as I type this.

I'll see you guys in the morning. Remember I'm looking to get the group ready to ride by 9:30AM. Don't forget your Discover pass!

meet n greet

I am in Belfast already, that was a quick drive using the Kingston ferry. Lookin forward to meeting everyone!

Wow, what a fantastic day! When I left my house, it was raining. I figured it'll be another day at Tahuya. As I got west of The Narrows Bridge, the rising sun was shining through my rear window. A great mix of trails...some of it loose & fast, and some not so fast(i.e. tight & twisty). I have some pics to upload. Thanks to Roscoe for another great time. It was great to meet eveybody. Amazingly enough, I didn't have any close calls or break anything. I did ride in the laziest manner(I had to pry my butt off the seat). I am so out of shape(only my 3rd ride in 9 weeks, due to an injury).

Awesome day .........not so happy at the start due to my bike being stubborn....but thanks to you gentleman helping flog the starter button and clean the gunk out of the carb I didnt miss a great day. Oh and Roscoe by the way ...forgot to put that spring clip on the gas line the one you told me about... Really appreciate your cooking for us and taking us out to the maze thanks again had a great day.
