hi ive got a 05 gas gas wild quad just bought it, didnt test ride it far so couldnt give it a proper run was on private land.

Got it on the road and it wont rev through the rev range iv messed about getting readings from the TPS sensor and twice for about ten seconds i managed to get the bike to rev properly and hit the limiter however its short lived and goes back to bogging out at any where past 1/3 throttle.

ive spoken to a few gas gas dealers but no body could give me any info on the resistance readings. ive looked on here for them but not sure if they are the same as the other 450 engines. i dont have the software for it, however ive access to a lab scope at work. iv looked at the TPS sensor unpluged ignition on ive got,
*1 ground
*1 12v feed
*1 5v feed

however pluged ignition on,
the ground stays ground
the 12V feed goes to zero then goes upto 5v when throttle worked
the 5v never changes.

is this normal??

any help would be hugely appriciated

anybody any ideas the engine cant be that diff from a normal gasgas 450...

thanks for the input....

not that anybody replied or tried to even help me. but this is for anybody who has a simlar problem on a gas gas quad. the bike would run however would not rev properly would ride but was stuck at 30mph. there are two relays under the seat one for fuel pump one for radiator fan. i swapped them over bike runs fine, was misleading as the pump did prime and obviously ran but i can only imagine was not generating sufficient pressure.

Thanks .. I guess this is a common problem on all of the 450's.

One relay being for fuel pump, other being for fan ... I'd suggest replacing them with napa relays.

Maybe you should have said it was a dirtbike instead, dont think their are many quad riders here.I have a wild 300 and wild 240.How do you like the 450?Have never seen one in the flesh.

not enjoying it at the moment tbh!! riddled with problems including the revving issue returning!! getting fed up be going to yam i think. hows yours?

Mine are both 2-strokes with carbs, they run great.Napa relays.I think he means to pull your old relays and take them to Napa and have them find better relays.Where are you located?

Its Napa auto parts. Find the thread on it and the napa number will be in there and have your local auto parts store cross it over to what they sell. The one i found here was for Cadillac ac. I dont remember the number.

Don't get mad due to lack of responses to your question. This site has been down for a couple of days, and as someone already said it's mostly bike guys here. I just read your post because I had no idea what a "wild" GG was. I thought you meant it was running wild in some way. I've owned 2 GG bikes, but have never seen a GG quad here in the states. Didn't even know they made quads.

I have asked a bunch of questions here and always gotten good input.

As for NAPA, it's a quality auto parts house in the states that usually has staff that care enough to actually help you match parts, and cross reference. One of those places that charge the customer a bit more but it's worth the price if you need good parts and help.

Jeff.

I searched and its Napa part # AR-614

thanks (nick) much appreciated, bikes giving me alot of agro at min put 4 litre of oil in it and its not using it or burning it and its not in the cooiling system... only done 18 miles and its vanished!! think im going to sell it as spares or repair ive spent more time fixing it than riding it thanks for allinput every one

just a quick update for anybody who might have a similar problem, turned out wasn't a relay was coincidence. i had a broken wire on the harness took it all of and bench tested it was the second to last wire i tested and could have been repaired on bike sods law!! a short earth wire running from the wiring harness multiplug to the ecu was broken but touching causing a intermitant fault. paired with this is what i believe to be a faulty coolant temp sensor with the resistance values i got from another member bike now revs and runs properly untill its upto temp then slows down and wont rev properly
