gasgas 125

I'd take a Husky 125 engine over any made. If GG uses the Husky there is drop on 144 and 165 kits for them.

When I can get the money I need, you can hve mine :)

By the way, to convert the husky into a 165 is a lot of work and no plug on solution

Elvis I had a Husky 125/144/ and a 165. I bolted my 165 on in less than an hour. It is a true bolt on and a excellent one at that; not a lot of work at all. My 14 year old grandson has it now.

I've bolted Walts 165 kit onto a mates WR125. Very well thought out. Kit comes with everything you need. As simple as pulling the old jug and piston. Changing a few PV parts from the old cyl and putting them into the new one. Bolting it back together. Tolerances were spot on too!

No problem Elvis I just wanted to let the GG guys know they would be in for an easy treat with a 165 kit. Walt the guy behind the 165 did say not so easy with the pumpkins.

OK, sorry!
I thought that the work is similar like to convert the gasgas into a 144.

George Erl of Uptite racing had a 167cc kit for huskies. IIRC it wasn't as good as Walts 165 kit and required splitting the cases.

As far as I'm concerned, that little 125 husky buzzbomb is simply one of the best little engines ever. Simple, rugged, reliable and good power.

Totally agree. Mine (my grandson's now) is still on the stock 08 bottom end after starting life as a 125, then 144, and now 165.

So what will they be Husky or yammaha ? I like my 200 but a 165 if lighter might interest me ? How much lighter than my 2011 200 could it be ?

Why oh Why would someone want small fore stroke ! I have had some small 4 strokes they make zero sense to me except as a heavy playbike . Lets see for a woods rider like me old slow not very talented ? I should invest in a bike that is more expensive to buy . More expensive to repair , not that I could rebuild a 4 stroke anyway . Maybe there is an advantage with the back pressure of the engine ? Maybe not seeing that I discovered the recluse clutch . So I know what it is no mixing the 2 smoke oil at the rite ratio. My wife could do that for me so that cant be it . I got it how could I be so blind !!!!!!!!!! I could be just like all the Jap bikes , I might as well just buy one of those then . Wait I can sort of I can buy a 450 Yammy engine in a Gasgas frame ? At least I would have a big 4 stroke not a want to be a 2 smoke imitation  I have had at least 60 plus dirt bikes over the years lots of old style 4 strokes , still have a 96 250 xr with a trials tire goes great . I had 2 250 yzf s before switching to Gasgas 200s no comparison at all . So would I be interested in a 165 2 stroke , and will it be the next new gasgas I buy ? I am going to be looking forward to this spring and what the company decides to do . I hope that they GASGAS brings the best part of there buyout of the Husky lineup to the USA . God Bless n Good Riding

I suggest trying a 300cc 4t. It is truly the right engine size for most offroad use. Alwys enough power without being too much. I had a 310 husky for a while and loved the moter. Have also rode a 300 4t Sherco- it's as close to perfect as can be.
If GG puts the 310 husky in the excellent GG chassis, it should be a winner!

Ive owned a 310 and ridden a sherco 300 and your opinion is spot on

I have a friend that has a 300 sherco 4 stroke that I should take for a spin . I have another friend that had a 310 husky it was a nightmare to the 10th degree . He never did get it to work rite sold it with less than 300 miles on it after 3 years of trying to get it rite . I did ride it but still like my 2 smokers not for anyone particular reason . Except the ones I already pointed out ? I rode a TM 450 a few weeks ago since I have been thinking about a dual sport bike . But I would like to try a bunch of different bikes Gasgas / Sherco / Beta That is getting added to my bucket list . Top of my list would be the 144/165 Gasgas /Husky engine bike . I rode a 125 2012 husky 3/4 times I could not stop smiling . So are they Gasgas going to have an active demo days plan ?
