Hey guys,
Looking for a bike for my 3 yr old and came across a 2004 gg ec boy 50 for 1500 aud.
A couple of questions:
-what are they worth 2nd hand?
-any probs to specifically watch out for?
- are they fairly tall like a ktm or more like a Jr50(they look tall.)
- how fast are they and can they be limited?
- is it the same deal for parts as my gg300?

Thanks guys, any help will be appreciated.
We live in Australia by the way.
Cheers Mark:)

A TXT50 is too much bike for a 3 year old. Its too tall and the power delivery is very sharp. It needs to rev quite high before the auto clutch engages and then it engages quite abruptly. My 7 year old boy tried one and he didn't like it (and he rides a PW80 very well)

Try a PW50 for a 3 year old.

That is what I wondered, thanks Fergus.
I think I will look at the JR and PW50's like I was originally.
Just saw this one on ebay and thought my boy woukld love a bike that looked like dads.
Personally it does look taller , much like the 85 KTM.
Thanks again,
Mark

No worries !

It does look really good but is more suited to a 7- 8 year old. Best of luckl finding a PW50 - they are getting very hard to find here in Ireland.

Cheers mate, they are not easy to find here either, the Jr suzi is easier and I will probably put an offer on one nearby soon.
Thanks again mate,
Mark

We have one. It is a but bigger than a JR50 but not as big as a KX65. They are a pretty good learners bike. Suits kids from 6 to 10. They are basically the same as the Gas Gas TXT50 trials bike that is still in production. It just has different plastics and a full sized seat. It has an auto clutch and a two speed gearbox. A clutch lever that allows the kids to dump the clutch.

There was one on Ebay in Australia recently that sold for $1350 AUD and was a bit of a bargin. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=120410139376

Thanks mate,
Ended up purchasing the JR for $900. Will give it to the boy for Xmas. He will be three and 9 months then. He can already ride a pushy with no training wheels and is only 3 and 2 mnths now so he should definitely be cool on a bike by Xmas.
Cheers Mark

I know this is an old thread, but I just joined. My youngest son rode the wheels off of a TXT 50 trials and an EC 50 enduro. They're awesome bikes and the grandkids will have nice bikes to ride soon!
