Gasgas Mc

Hi

I have been looking out for an enduro bike for trail riding....

A 250MC has come up for sale near me,can anyone shed some light on the differences between the MC & EC?

Would it be worth buying and puting lighting kit on etc.....or would it be too aggressive?

Thanks in advance :)

If it's new enough not to have a four speed tranny, I think you'd be okay. The MC isn't that aggressive of a bike in my opinion. The lack of a kickstand, and the 19" wheel would be my only gripes. If those things don't bother you, you're good to go.

i thought mc's had 5 speed? also i think the mc had 2k2 ignition which has meager output.. you'd need another stator to power anything more than led's and a weak headlight.. if for some reason the mc has too much hit for woods/trail that can be pretty easily tamed down with ignition timing/base gasket changes...

I think its a 2006

I would want to road register the bike so id have to fit lights, speedo etc but im thinking most bits like this can be got from the EC model?

Has it got a close ratio or different gearbox to the EC?

Gears can be changed. That '06 should have a six speed.
The four speed would be fine too, as long as you don't need first gear normally! That's the older bikes though, like '99.

I guess I'll find out soon whether my '05 MC250 is a four or six clicker. I haven't ridden it yet, and two sites say four and two sites say six. :)

Great news. The six speed will make it more versatile. Everything else is just gravy. Did you happen to get a spark arrestor with it?

I'm not sure if FMF makes the Q Stealth for the '06 and older machines. If they do, that would be my choice. It's spendy at $179, but nice and quiet.

They do offer the turbine core 2 for it. Gas Gas bikes are quiet anyway, but the less noise the better as far as I'm concerned. I don't care about the neighbors, I mean for my poor ears!

You could always get an add on spark arrestor for the end. that would be cheap, but they're getting pretty scarce.

If that's the way you want to go, and you have difficulty finding an end cap spark arrestor, let me know if your silencer is round or oval, I may have something.

Frankly (and you may not get away with it in Cal) I ran a DB Snorkel on the stock GG silencer for a loooong time. No one ever even questioned me. Most rangers were falling all over themselves as to how it was nice to see people trying to be responsible and doing things like adding the DB SNorkel.

The silencer is round, and I'll say I'm having trouble finding one, because I have no idea what will work or won't. My knowledge base is too small to make the call. :P

I did some searching here, and found that the Q Stealth is in fact NOT made for older than the '07 Gassers. One member here did do a mod for the Q Stealth that worked well for him and his '05 MC250, but he knows how to do stuff like...WELD! Not in my repertoire, unfortunately.

I think I've kind of threadjacked this one, so I'm going to put the whole spark arrestor query into my own thread. Do PM me if you have anything that will work with mine, though. :)
