Hasslebri and I spent part of our 4th of July holiday putting his 09 EC125 back together.

The 152cc "bored and stroked" motor comes right off the personel work bench of one GasGas's lead two-stroke development technician's.

We didn't spend alot of time on the bike yet, just a couple of rides up and down the driveway for myself with Brian doing a couple of easy laps around his enduro course.

We need to work with the jetting a little yet but the motor has plenty of torque and pulls off the bottom like a 250.

Nice...that pipe is a work of art! Very factory looking pipe.....just like the old days!

Pretty neat scoot and I like the red frame (like the trials bikes). I think GG should do that on the enduro bikes perhaps.

So this is the small 125 motor (and lighter I assume???) with BB kit.

.....and what of the GG 200? They have dropped that bike? Still makes more sense to me than a 150 which size is driven purely from the stupid MX world regulations.

I really like the GG125, even the old '01 my nephew rides is still competitive in the woods. It has a lot of the same good points over the competition just like the bigger bikes. Lower seat height and good 6 speed transmission ratios for starters. Many YZ and some CR crossover parts as well. The only concern is some GG125 specific parts, as there are probably only a handfull of these bikes in the USA. Sometimes this has been an issue as they are pricey and less common. Overall the bike is very bulletproof.

It will be interesting to see how this bike holds up, and if so would be great to see it go more mainstream.

Reminds me of my old DynoPort pipe I had on my '82 KX 250, a guy out of New York who did the "cone" pipes. Very trick and worked great

Nice bike for sure

The "second" V-force reed cage mounted closest to the engine has been modified to serve as a reedcage spacer.

Other especial modifications that "I can tell you about without having to kill you" include a custom mapped Hi-Lo CDI unit, 16+ oz of flywheel weight, modified power valves, "stroked" crank, bored cylinder, modified head, custom exhaust pipe, and RB designs carb mod that has been overbored to 39mm (I believe.)

The motor was shipped to Spain for modification and the frame was sandblasted and painted red locally.

Brian also updated the 09 airbox and plastics to the 2010 versions.

This bike is not a replacement for the EC200 and is officially not available from the factory. In this form the motor and all mods and parts would cost around $3000 retail.

....and just think what the 200 could be like if they did all that work to it:eek:

Steve, is the 200 still being made/imported? No one seems to have a real answer to this question and it's no longer listed on the GG web site.

Skidad, EC 200s are still being built by the factory they just haven't been imported much into the US as demand by dealers to order them has never been very high.

The GG 200's price is way out of line compared with KTMs 200, sometimes $1000 higher. Thats mostly because the GG 200 is based on the 250/300 frame so their prices are basically the same as the 250/300 while the 200 KTM is somewhat of a compromise, built on a lighter frame with cheaper components, closer to what you would find on the KTM 125.

Bueller? Bueller? How about a good ol' tease for those of us buried under the winter's snow. GG 152 kits available at GoFasters for $899 sounds good doesn't it :D:D

Seriously, has there been any word on continued development on the 152 concept, or even a 144 upgrade kit like you can buy OE for your Husky WR125?
