GG dealer meeting

So any feedback on the '07s? Let me guess, everyone that rode the ec250 and ec300 was stocked! How about feedback on the ec125? Any? Word has it that the '07 Husky wr125 is even faster than before, any chance of fighting for part of that market? How about the fse450?

According to Cycle News.
The EC125 has NO low end power compared to the KTM ,TM and Husky, it is like an on off switch.
The FSR is like a DRZ400.

Thats because the stock jetting sucks. Once its jetted right (VERY different than stock), it pulls real well for a 125.

Wow. How interesting?

My companys WebSense policy has blocked your site due to "adult content". Guess I'll have to wait until I get home to find out.;)

So Brett... are the bikini girls on your homepage avid GasGas riders? I'm looking for some new riding partners. :D

I hope the motorcycle gig is your part time job.:D

Now if you would have had them there and advertised in advance... I can guarantee you would have had 100% dealer attendance. Possibly even a few new and old dealers would have signed up.

"You want me to sell Husaberg AND Gas Gas? Hell yeah!"

First things first. What girls in bikinis??? The only thing I get is bikes and more bikes?! And I've tried three times so far!
And secondly, we've been pretty darn patient over here, and I for one think it's time someone starts sharing some info from the dealer meeting. Hopefully tomorrow You'll be rested and ready to share.

Nice...:p Thats the one accessory for my VRod my wife will not allow me to have.

Now...

Whats the story about prices, bike configuration, availability, and the general plan ?? Why do I get the feeling it didn't go 100% as planned?

He's distracting us with the chicks so he doesn't have to address the dealer meeting. I've been in the marketing/advertising business long enough to recognize a redirection tactic.:p

It's working... he's kept us busy for 3 days.

Suspense is the marketers favorite tool. Mystery creates buzz.

How about info from any dealers who went?
My bet is that the first dealer to post good info sells 5 bikes at full MSRP.;)

OK, Ok, here we go....

First, I hope that no one is offended by the content on my personal website.
I'm an amateur photographer when I'm not marketing exotic motorcycles, and the site where I hosted the pictures does have some non-motorcycle related content. As soon as we develop our own GasGas site, I'll host pictures there.
If anyone would like to see more of my personal portfolio, please contact me through the email address listed on my personal webpage ;)

OK, now on to the meeting:

We had 30 GasGas dealers in attendance, some who I had met before (Husaberg dealers), some who I had communicated with on the phone and web, but most were new friends. We at Dixie Sales learned an enormous amount about the brand from the existing dealer base, we devoted an entire day to "Q&A" about the past, present, and future. Lots of spleens were vented, but I think that we made it clear to the dealer base that we are the right people for the job.

Brian Gillen and Xavier Alonso were there representing the factory, and both were awesome characters. I cannot accurately describe Brian's intellect without writing volumes. The guy is simply brilliant - He worked with Magneti Marelli designing fuel injection systems, then on to Harley Davidson on their FI bikes, and then to GasGas. And not only is the guy a brilliant engineer who speaks five languages, he's personable, and he has a great head for business. He's one to watch in the industry, in my opinion. Xavier is an extremely friendly and charming "sales guy" who is impossible not to like. We really hit it off, and I'm looking forward to working with Spain.

Bike-wise, we had all of the 2007 enduro bikes there with the exception of the 200. I was so busy with the business side of the meeting that I didn't even get an opportunity to ride, but I'm sure that the dealers who are active on this forum will post their impressions. I did get to take a brief blast on the 450, and I was really impressed. It was quick, throttle response was instantaneous, and the bike did not feel heavy. I'm getting one of my own asap.

Everyone on the forum has been asking about the configuration of the bikes that we're bringing in, and the short answer is that we don't know yet. We have two containers on the way, and they are straight Euro EC versions, as far as I know. We're working with the dealers regarding how the next containers of bikes will be configured, and as soon as that's decided, I will post.

So.....bikes land on October 25, please contact your local dealer.

Cheers,

Brett Saunders
