Great Offroad Riding Near You ?

As said above, family and friends. For example my mother and father live down the street. My sister around the block. Childhood friends within walking distance. My son walks to his grandmother house , visits his cousin 1 block away, stops over my friends house who has kids same age. I have replicated an old fashioned neighborhood in a safe low crime community. So that takes priority over my personal need to want to move around. Fortunately I have traveled on business and vacation around the country and parts of the world before children.

Now when he goes to college all bets are off. Fortunately in the meantime I live in the largest forest preserve in NJ and ride right from my house.

I can be at a trail head in 30 minutes from the house, Heck, in Boise (which is 30 minutes away too) there are trails on the edge of town, right off 8th Street.

Mick - might have to figure out someway to come visit your neck of the woods. We have great riding here too, but some of the pictures you posted (and that report you linked to advrider.com had me droolin'...lol) makes me want to load my bike and head east.

I've done several street rides through parts of ID and loved it. One of the best steaks I think I've ever had was at the Konkolville Motel in Orofino - nothing like grilling your own NY Strip.

Seriously great place to be a bike rider - of any type :D

Totally understandable, nothing wrong with that...we all have different needs in life. I grew up in a family owned construction business...one of the reasons I moved aaaaaaall the way out to Arizona 20 years ago. ;)

The town we are in now reminds me of the place a grew up in, people are nice and neighborly... it was like going home...with out going home, If that makes any sense.

This is the place we plan on retiring in, so there is that too...we just bought it 20 years early. ;)

Yeah, you need to make it over. I am just scratching the surface here. There is so much trail...a little unbelievable to tell you the truth. I have been going down to the Owyhee's since it is super close. Kinda cool...start off in the desert and can end up in the trees all in one ride. This was a two weeks ago. If you come on a trail ride with me, then you'll understand why I gripe about the small gas tanks available for the GG's. ;) :)

That and...so many people that ride here...seems like down in AZ and back in PA, you tell people you ride dirt bikes, you have to explain what a dirt bike is...here...they are like...oh yeah...we ride too!
