Help - Head Bolts?

Another thing I noticed while cleaning up the cylinder since the head was off to RB's.

I now know I have a "B" cylinder and took note of the stamp on the cylinder. It is a S3 cylinder which I think I recall this discussion before. But what is the main difference between this one and the "pretty" one S3 sales as an aftermarket one?

No idea re differences. I know the fancy S3 one I had was hand ported. Zero casting flaws in any of the ports. Actually looked like it was hand ported and then coated. Comparing it to a stock GG cylinder it had a few ports raised aimed at producing better top end (at the expense of lower).

Thanks Jake - that makes sense.

So what is your verdict? Have you road it since the mod?

I haven't had a chance to get out and ride since putting her back together :( I did a quick test up and down our road a few times and she seemed to pull nice and strong (and smooth) from the get-go; but I was only in 1st-2nd on a flat gravel road...didn't want to irritate the neighbors too badly...lol.

I'm hoping to get out for a rip this Saturday so I can form a full opinion

I had the RB mod done recently and love it. Crisp throttle response rigth off idle and less stalling. I also moved the piston up in the jug with two of the thick geskets which seemed to make a slight difference on top as well.

Man you guys are all over it, I added two of the thick gaskets, which dropped the piston in the bore, which resulted in a tiny improvement in the top end, I think. Regardless the crispness off the bottom was well worth the $100.

Adding a gasket changed your squish as well as decreased the duration of the intake and exhaust port opening. Did you add the gasket before or after RB modified your cylinder head?

I might be dumb but i aint stupid. I added the gaskets before I sent the head out. It only moved a tiny bit compared to how much of the ports the piston blocks. I cant wait to do some horsepower hill climbs and really ring the piss out of the bike to see any improvement.

Please don't take any offense to my post. I was only wanting to make sure I understood you correctly. So there is 3 of us that have the mod now and still not riding. So sad....

LOL

I'm planning to change that this coming Saturday assuming the forecast doesn't change to a monsoon (which is always a possibility as you well know...lol). One of the guys I ride track with finally picked up a knobby beast, so we're heading out. I'm going to take it easy on him, but fully plan to explore the rev range on my 200

I ride once or more per week. I have four rides on the head mod. I was saying i want to get the chance to wring its neck, which likely won't really happen for another month ar more. Most of the riding I do is 1 and 2 gear 1/4 throttle stuff.

Absolutely no offense intended, I was just trying to wrap my head around your process. I still need to pop the head and check the bore/rings/port height on my 11. I had RB do the head on my 2002, I imagine that I should see some improvements on this one as well. Plus doing a bit of port matching and up/down to the ports.
