hello guys,

i'm in need of a new rear (and front) tyre and dreally have no clue what to look for.
i do understand that soft knobbies wear alot faster then hard ones but why would one put soft knobbies then?
how can you get more grip out of soft knobbies instead of hard ones?

type of riding i do is every now and then rocky (sharp ones) but allso on green lanes with some mud and sand.
mostely dry but occasionally wet surfaces.
so actualy it's a mix of everything.
it needs to fit an ec300 2000 with a 19inch RW.
i don't race, just recreational riding.

enlighten me please :p

thanks, hannes.

Well being your in Europe and we don't have access to the broad spectrum of dirt tyres like the US, so I would recommend a Mitas C02 for the rear, a hard wearing good all round tyre, that comes in a 19" rim size and is road legal as well so good for green laning.

i just read a good review on that tyre, thanks for that tip! :-)
they just say that it might not be that good in grass as it won't dig in?
i would assume that with big hard knobbies it would surely dig in,not?

I find that it digs in fine, although its best surface is shale/rocks/gravel.

Not sure if you can get one, but the Dunlop 952 is a very long wearing tyre that gets great traction in grass.
