How do you stop the brake pedal bolt from bending on the 2010/11 frames?

I need to replace the brake pedal bolt almost every ride because it gets bent and the pedal will hit the footpeg mount -> no more rear brake. Tried just about every type of bolt I can get my hands on...any ideas? Anybody have the same problem?

If you don't have that problem and your brake pedal stays in the right position, a picture or details of your setup would be very much appreciated.

Bike is a 2010 EC300

Done 8000kms+ with no issues bending bolts on a 2010 model.

The rear brake runs in a bushing which can flog out over time. Checkpoint offroad make a nice replacement which holds up better and takes alot of play out of the pedal.

I have had no problem with the bolt bending using the stock bushing either. I even have a spacer that pushes the bolt outboard so the brake clears my taller Reklus clutch cover.
But since you are having problems: any hardened bolt of the correct length should work fine.

Same, no issues at all on my '11, and I've hit a stump hard enough to flatten the brake pedal foot grip thingy.

thanks for all the tips! i've ordered one of those fancy checkpoint bushings, that should definitely help to get some of the play out and make the whole assembly more solid.
