Hey all,

New to the forum so I thought I would say howdy. I live in Queensland, Australia and bought a new 08 EC300 a couple of months back. Great bike so far although it was a challange to jet, still not convinced it is spot on but feel it is close.

I live in the heart of "Thumper Land" where CRF's, WRF's and DRZ's well and truly rule the roost and most think Gas Gas is a Chinese brand!!!! Two strokes are reasonably rare here and two stroke enduro bikes are practically unheard of which is a great shame.

Anyhow, howdy all. Great forum with lots of great info and accumulated experience. I look forward to stopping by from time to time to pick peoples brains.

I am quite new to this forum too.
Just wondering what you ended up doing with your jetting? ie main and pilot jets sizes, clip pos etc?

Hey Wence,

I ended up going with;
38 pilot
JD Red needle 4th clip
185 main
air screw 1-2 turns out -varies from day to day.
stock #7 slide.

I am app 900 klm from the coast so very dry air here. My jetting seems a bit different from other folks but this has cleaned up the rich spluttery bottom end, good clean middle and top. It is possibly a tad lean at idle and a tad rich at WOT so I might muck with it some more yet.

Nice to know there are atleast two 300's in Oz. Naah, just kidding, there are a few but not many around here.

I'm from down south Victoria. I ride an '03 EC200, my uncle has an '08 EC300, my other uncle rides an '08 GasGas FSR450, and our mate has an '07 EC300 for sale because he bought an '08 EC250 hahahaha. There's a few Gassers out here now.

Hope you get your jetting issues sorted real soon

I'm on the Sunshine Coast riding a FSE450 06 Model. I'm sure you'll enjoy your new ride. 900klm's from the coast sounds like your in Mt Isa :eek: . Anyway...Enjoy

Great to hear from ya's. Sorry for the delay but I work in the bush during the week and only home on the weekend.

No major mods Mark apart from jetting. I would like to squeeze a few more ponies out of the old girl if I can. May go with a full FMF system. I would like to get R&B (?) carb mod and the squish sorted but the Aussie dollar died.

Not the Isa Coolum but I did grow up there, great place it is as well.
