Husaberg-bye bye

It's as if BMW suddenly bought GasGas, Ossa, and Sherco and decided to name the new conglomeration, "Bultaco."

Sort of.

I think it may be good.. especially needed in the 4stroke lineup. The issues they have had with some of their stuff is just downright frightening..

Well that photoshop didn't take long, but sure tells a story of what it will eventually end up like. I find it hard to beleive that there will be two completely different set of platforms and two engine families, especially considering the Varse factory with all the XLite tooling is now closed. I think once the stock is gone, they will just be another KTM with different colors and trim. Just like an old Chevy Camaro and Pontiac Firebird.

I agree. Dirt Bike Magazine just named the Husaberg TE 300 Bike of the Year. Crazy, here today gone tomorrow.

With talk of new tech Husqvarnas to debut in October....my money is on white/red KTM's. Unless BMW had ready in waiting a complete update ready for production, which is highly unlikely.

Quick tooling of fresh Husky styled Berg bodywork anyone ?

I heard Husky has indeed been testing new DI two strokes and an XLite 450. If true, this will probably be absorbed into the KTM Blob like the Husaberg four stroke tech a few yeas back. Red and white KTMs make more sense as Oct seems way too soon for everything new to work out.

Wonder how long the current XLite parts supply will last?

I'm not so sure the new Husky's will even be RED and White. With SP wanting to make a bold statement blah blah blah about the rebirth of Husqvarna I'n not so sure they might not end up Blue????? Parts supply I think will be OK and this is all a shame as I DO NOT RIDE ANYTHING KTM!! I may have to grab a 13 Husky. All Sad to me.................................. But my new Gasser did put a grin on my face this last weekend!!!

Might turn out blue as original Husqvarna was but I have to say I'm curious to see what comes out in Milan as they have a bunch of 70 degrees engines staked up in Mattighofen . HVA 450 engine is gone as it was BMW's development and who knows what will happen to HVA's 250 & 310 "piccolo" engine ... If they present KTM with HVA logos it's going to be a commercial disaster IMHO unless they price it low...but then it will eat KTM's market share. I expect to see a brand new bike with KTM/Husaberg engines and WP suspensions.

I just picked up a 2013 TE250 Husaberg (coming off 2011 EC300) early this month. Hands down the best dirt bike I have ever ridden/owned period. The WP 4CS fork is unequalled (again in my humble opinion) and having gone back to a PDS bike I still feel that for me, this is the best system for woods riding. The weight, turning, traction, ground clearance, the motor is flipping superb, the suspension is just great, largest stock tank, fit & finish of parts everything is just awesome.

I had an extremelly tough XC race a couple weeks ago that was mud mud mud, bike covered, rads plugged, abusing my clutch & hacked my way up every hill, downed my bike no less than 25 times & it just took it like a swedish call girl (over the line?)

I have stopped giving a shoot about who owns what & Who Made Who (great song) etc. I am confused about them gassing the Husaberg name as 2012/2013 seemed like they have been gaining huge traction in the enduro racing world wide, racked up a BOTR from Dirt Bike magazine, locally you cant buy a 'Berg as they are totally sold out. But Im sure the think tank that owns KTM knows what they are doing.

Im actually quite excited to see a yellow & blue 205lb 250cc direct injected 2T Husky with WP air suspension!! Maybe....?

Go ahead chaps, begin with the "blue Ktm" jabs, my smile is so big its collapsing my ear canals so I cant hear you :D

My buddy just bought a 13 te250 that was set up as a second bike for mike lafferty. The suspension is done and she's arriving on Friday. I'm interested to try out the new suspension compared to my ttx and the zoke 48's. ill give my feedback when it gets here. I think one huge reason the berg would be better than your gasser to you is because your going from a 300 to a 250. I'm much faster and climbing like never before now that I've changed from my 300 to a 250. Also if your coming off the 45 zokes on the 11 gasser they are one of the worst forks I've ever ridden so the wp's should be night and day. Can't wait to try it and see how it fairs against the other suspensions I've tried!
