Hi. Has anyone does this conversion? I have the forks, they fit straight into the clamps and the std axle fits fine. I will just need to machine some spacers and machine some material off the fork brake lugs.( Roughly 5mm). Any info on this will be greatly appreciated! I can't wait to install them . Thanks.Aled

48MM KYB CC forks off a 2011 Husky TXC . I have literally just had the spacers made today. I opted to counterbore 3.5mm off the caliper hanger. It seems plenty thick anyhow. They are also the same forks that come standard on the TM's and Beta Boano sell the same forks . They must have bought a lot of new stuff off Husqvarna . I had a set on my 2014 Beta 250 rr. They fit straight in the clamps and also the caliper hanger lines up with the lugs, only it puts the wheel at a different offset to std . I'll let you know how i get on.

They have the black outer tubes and gold tops on them.

If the overall offset of the wheel changes by a lot you may change the handling/steering behavior. Might be worth a quick measurement of the fork offset.

I am not a suspension expert but with the amount of travel on dirt bike suspension the rake and trail is constantly changing as we ride so surely a small difference in offset will not be noticed by weekend warriors?

I have fitted it all up last night. The wheel was offset from the centre till i got the spacers made and the caliper hanger machined. The wheel is now in the centre of the forks where it shoud be. I'll get some photos and a few measurements if you would like?

Are you sure the Husky lugs are a different offset to the Gasser? Have you measured them up?

With the Yamaha KYBs, the late model WR's use a 35mm offset, where YZ range is 32mm. I ended up mating a set of YZF250 KYBs to my Gasser and did not correct for the -3mm in offset. It's definitely a noticable change, but not what I would say is better or worse. Just different. That's on a 13 model. Haven't tried them on a pre 11 to see how it feels.

Where are you measuring the offset from? The lugs are in the same place for mounting purposes, but the caliber protrudes in towards the non disc side too much. The feet are totally different to the yamis kybs.

Center line of the fork to the center line of the axle clamp. It's a bit hard to accurately measure but can be done.

Seems to be 2 offsets being discussed. Specifically, you are speaking about the position of the wheel being centered between the forks and under the front fender, which as you say has been resolved with custom spacers and some modification to the brake hanger.

The other is to do with the steering geometry and how far away from the forks the axle is held by the lugs. Moving the axle in closer will reduce total steering offset in the same way that going to a smaller triple clamp offset would. A few mm, most definitely is a noticeable change.

yes... i get t
You. Im changine my steering offset the same as if i used different triple clamps. I'm going to try them tomorrow :D Will let you how they feel.

Have the same forks on my wife's 11 250 for two years now. The lug offset is the same as the 45 zokes that were on it but I did have to bore the lower triple about 1mm. Take 3 mm of the calliper bracket and make spacers.

I originally had 48mm forks, hence i didn't need to machine the clamps out.:D
