Is a full rebuild worth it for a 2008 GasGas EC300? (Cylinder + Piston)

05 is the year they changed the engine cases and you could fit a e start. If you got a picture of the left side of your engine, I can tell you if it's possible to install the e start. If you have a 05+ engine, it's just 100% bolt on.

Thanks mate
I am totally clueless on this. I'm the only one left riding at this age and I'm always on my own. I worry about starting it if I hurt a leg in a get off. Hitting a Kangaroo is the worry as it's beyond my control. I do carry a Garmin with a subscription, but you don't want to be rescued from some of the places we can get into. Is this photo good enough? I can get a better one but this is already here.

My big dream was/is to go "down under" and ride that dingo fence across Australia. But im way to afraid of snakes and spiders to ever realise that dream 😝 Pic is good enough. You got a true 05 model there, making it 100% bolt on to use a E-start. Enduropuro.it and motocrosscenter.com both sell the complete kits and the parts to get a E-start. Not always they have them in stock, but they do sell them when available. If you look at your stator cover/left engine case. There is a "hump" on the top of the stator cover/engine case. The 04 and older has a round hump. And the 05 and newer has a square hump.

Not much at the moment. But hopefully soon in stock: https://www.enduropuro.it/shop/it/209-avviamento-elettrico
https://www.motocrosscenter.com/shop/en/1556-start had even less parts right now(but hopefully soon)
You can also just Google the individual part numbers from the e-start. Here is THE place to get manuals: https://www.motocrosscenter.com/shop/en/content/8-gas-gas-parts-manuals
